Friday, September 18th was a special day as the fourth graders gathered to share memories of Georgia Overton. Georgia's family members, neighbors, friends, and teachers met in the amphitheater on our playground. Everyone focused on the memory of Georgia's smile as they released balloons with messages attached. We will never forget Georgia.

Semantics Team Tryouts - Tuesday, September 29th 8:30 am-9 am OR Thursday, October 1st 4:15 pm-4:45 pm
Does your child LOVE spelling? Does he or she love to learn about word origins, types of language and new vocabulary? Does he or she like COMPETITIONS? Well, look no further!

2. The Denver Public Schools HGT (Highly Gifted and Talented) nomination forms are now available
here.
You have the option of downloading the form or filling it out online. All forms are due to the DPS GT Department no later than

The before-school lap-running will begin Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 9, from 8:40 am until the bell rings.
Kids meet at our playground track (look for the tennis shoe banner) and run laps to earn cool charms for your UPark necklace!

We still have openings in the following classes: Scratch Lab (Mon), Colorado Ballet (Tues), Challenge Island (Weds), Young Rembrandts (Thurs). Please let Jesse know if you're interested in enrolling your child in one of these classes.

Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior.
Last week's students include: Adrian Beach, Abigail Bettinger, Lukas Daniels, Nasier Muhammad-Timm, Addison Blackwood, Ramsey White, Charles Davis, Shreyas Rao, Johnny Neuhalfen, Evan Petrucelli, Lucas Brown, Jackson White, Reese Billingsley, Estrella Matute-Villatoro, Aaralyn Gonzalez, Laila Hilton, Sequoyah Matibag, Abdus Samad, Declan Todd, Remy MacDonald, Ryan Long, Luke Yeh, Zachary Collisson, Josie Goltra, Sean Thrailkill, Khloe Brown, Sorren Cochran, JaiYi Dong, Sterling Smith, Phoebe Rogala, Freal Sassi, Lucy Lloyd.
Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.
Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation.

*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls(all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
