Principal Update:

MORE RECESS!!  Our Student Council, which is made up of selected 4th & 5th grade students, collected data and wrote letters to me describing how and why extra time outside will benefit learning.  After reviewing all their information, and discussing with teachers, we have added 5 minutes to recess for each grade level.  All grade levels will now have 25 minutes for recess and continue to have 20 minutes for lunch.

  • The updated lunch/recess schedule is here.
  • Inclement weather in the mornings: Students will go to the gym no earlier than 8:40am where there will be adult supervision.  Due to lack of space we ask that parents and family do not stay for the bell to ring.  Teachers will pikc up students at the first bell.

Walk your Wheels - Please know that students and families are required to walk their wheels (scooters, skateboards, bikes, etc) on the playground.

Classroom Libraries - This year, we are adding to classroom libraries! You may have seen the pallets of books being dropped off earlier this week. These books were purchased by downtown and will help support student growth in the classroom. We will be working with a few volunteers to help stamp and distribute books to classrooms over the next few weeks. If you are interested in helping with this project, please email Joy Murphy.

Halloween - Our annual Halloween parade will be on Friday, Oct. 31st at 9:15am. Homeroom teachers will lead their classes outside for two laps around our track. Family and friends are welcome to attend, but must remain outside until all classrooms have finished. Anyone staying for classroom celebrations must check and sign in through the front office. Please click here to see Upark's guidelines for Halloween.  More information and reminders to come over the next few weeks.

Thanks for your continued support!
