Principal Update:

We need your help and support in our safety efforts at UPark.  Please make sure students are dropped off no earlier than 8:40am (8:30am for breakfast) unless they are in Band, Spanish, or Kaleidoscope.  Pick up time is 3:45pm unless a student is staying for Enrichment or Kaleidoscope.  It's important students are not left at the school outside of these supervised times for safety reasons.  Doors to the school remain locked before and after school.

Update from School Leadership Team (SLT):
The purpose of the SLT is to support a collaborative school climate by including teachers in the decisions made regarding the structure of their professional experience.  Members of SLT include the principal and elected teachers.
During August/ September the SLT:
* Revised the master schedule to allow for smaller groups of students at lunch and recess.
* Supported opening the school with work around our values and reviewing school data.
* Surveyed the teachers regarding professional development needs.
* Created a professional development calendar for August - October.

A note on communication - we love the progress made with our Parent Portal tool, but there is a small glitch with changing emails in this system.  If you change your email through Parent Portal, please also send a copy of the change to the University Park Office .  The Parent Portal does NOT update your email within our office for student records, for our Thursday communications, or for your Teacher and Room Parent communications.  We can only ensure the change is made globally if you let our office staff know of an email change.

Our whiteboard project is now complete!  It's great to see these upgrades in our classrooms!
