The backstory: The WBDC is assisting Governor Pat Quinn, in collaboration with other child care advocacy organizations, to ensure that the State of Illinois allocates funds to pay for child care services to eligible low-income families. Child care businesses across Illinois provide necessary, high-quality child care to thousands of families, and these businesses must be paid for these critical services.
It is up to the state legislature to approve the reallocation of funds. The budget problems of Springfield should not be resolved on the backs of its micro-entrepreneurs! The WBDC, in partnership with other advocacy agencies such as Illinois Action for Children and Voices for Illinois Children, is raising its voice on this issue.
