URGENT: Take Action NOW and Contact your Senator to Support Quality Child Care!

Tomorrow, the Senate will consider passage of S.1086, a bill to reauthorize the Child Care and Development Block.

The Senate is currently considering passage of S.1086, a bill to reauthorize the Child Care and Development Block Grant and needs to hear your support for the bill now!

In September, the House passed an amended version of the bill and now the Senate will have a chance to pass the new version of the bill and send it to the President's desk for his signature.

Over 11 million children under age 5 are in some type of child care arrangement every week. Standards for child care vary by state. Unfortunately, many states are doing little to protect the health and safety of children in child care or to promote school readiness.

You can help make a difference by telling your Senators to strengthen the Child Care and Development Block Grant as this year's reauthorization of the CCDBG law is considered. Don't wait! Children in child care need to be safe and in a setting that promotes their healthy development. Let your Senators know that the current condition of child care is not okay and working parents have enough to worry about without also worrying that licensed care means little in their state and that they need to take action now.
