USF Offers Non-profit Executives the Chance to Earn an MBA for Half the Price

 

 

Tampa, FL (Feb. 6, 2010) - Executives from non-profit charitable agencies interested in improving their business skills are invited to apply for a scholarship to the Executive MBA program at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  

 

The scholarship is valued at $23,750 - half the price of the total fees for the 21-month program. Applications for the scholarship are due no later than June 1, 2014. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early. 

 

The scholarship is limited to those with an undergraduate degree; however, it is not limited to those with a business degree. Applicants with degrees in fields such a juvenile justice, psychology, social work, or education are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are required to:            

  • have at least five years managerial experience,
  • have a proven record of commitment with a Tampa Bay 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency,
  • commit to at least three additional years of service to a local not-for-profit upon graduation,
  • have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution,
  • have a GMAT score of 500 or higher. All scholarship applicants must take the GMAT exam - it may not be waived, and
  • have a current salary less than $100,000

 

This is the fourteenth year USF is offering this scholarship. Past recipients include executives from the United Way, Metropolitan Ministries, Gulfside Regional Hospice, MacDonald Training Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Hillsborough County Aging Services.

 

The remaining $23,750 in fees (plus mandated tuition increases) will be pro-rated and payable at the beginning of each of the four semesters of the program. Applicants may apply for financial aid through the USF Financial Aid Services to help cover these expenses.
