USHJA Emerging Athletes Program 2014 Regional Training Sessions Come to a Close

The 2014 Emerging Athletes Program, presented by Dover Saddlery, wraps-up its nationwide Regional Training Sessions as the late-summer training sessions come to a close. Now in its sixth year, the 2014 EAP season hosted a total of nine Regional Training Sessions. The late-summer training sessions were held in Burbank, CA, Parker, CO and Newburgh, NY and were led by renowned clinicians, expert stable managers and attended by some of the country's top emerging riders.

Hosted at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, August 1-5, the seventh Regional Training Session was led by Olympic gold medalist Joe Fargis and stable manager Anne Thornbury. A group of 22 eager riders were instructed on flat and over fence work as well as grooming, horsemanship and barn management skills. Fargis, who is no stranger to success in the highest levels of the sport, stressed proper equitation, flatwork and tack/equipment to the young athletes.
