Applications for two awards that recognize youth members for their equestrian and horsemanship achievements are now open! The USHJA Youth Leadership Award and the USHJA Nominee for the USEF Youth Sportsman's Award identify potential future leaders in the equine industry who demonstrate an ongoing commitment and dedication to USHJA by promoting the equestrian sport, exhibiting characteristics that exemplify positive sportsmanship principles and who serve as role models for their peers.

Zone 7 Takes Double Gold at the Children's and Adult Amateur Jumper Central Regional Championships

The 2014 Children's and Adult Amateur Jumper Regional Championships kicked-off with the Central Regional Championship at the Maffitt Lake Equestrian Center in Cumming, IA on July 31-August 3 with 19 Children's and Adult Amateur Jumper riders from Zones 6 and 7.
Both divisions and zones were combined to create a total of five teams for the Championship.
Apply to Host an EAP Regional or National Training Session!
Applications are now being accepted from facilities to host a 2015 EAP Regional or National Training Session/Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Finals. Regional Training Sessions are five days in length with 24 riders and their horses being invited to attend. The National Training Session/Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Finals is four days in length with multiple EAP riders and HQC Finalists being invited to attend.
The host facility does not have to be a show facility to be considered. Private farms, boarding facilities, universities, prep schools, et cetera may apply, as long as the facility can meet USHJA/EAP requirements.

2014 USEF National Junior Jumper Championships (Prix des States)
There is still time to apply for the 2014 USEF National Junior Jumper Championships (Prix des States).
Riders wishing to be considered for the 2014 USEF National Junior Jumper Championships must complete and submit an application online at www.usef.orgno later than August 31, 2014. There is a $25 fee per application.
Additionally, horse/rider combinations wishing to participate in the USEF National Junior Jumper Championships must earn a Certificate of Capabilityby completing a course set at 1.40 m (4'7") or higher with a score of 4 faults or less within their zone's qualifying period.
Each rider entered in the championship must submit their Certificate of Capability to the Federation office in Lexington, KY by September 12, 2014.

Lucy Davis (Los Angeles, Calif.) will ride Old Oak Farm's Barron Barron is a 2004 Belgian Warmblood gelding.
Kent Farrington (Wellington, Fla.) will ride Amalaya Investments' Voyeur Voyeur is a 2002 Dutch Warmblood gelding.
Beezie Madden (Cazenovia, N.Y.) will ride Abigail Wexner's Cortes 'C' or Simon Cortes 'C' is a 2002 Belgian Warmblood gelding. Simon is a 1999 Dutch Warmblood gelding.
McLain Ward (Brewster, N.Y.) will ride Sagamore Farms' Rothchild Rothchild is a 2001 Warmblood gelding.
