March 50/50 to Benefit
UU Urban Ministry
The Denominational Connections Ministry Team has designated the UU Urban Ministry to share in our Sunday offerings during the month of March. Based at the First Church Roxbury (Unitarian Univer
s
ali
st), the organization is governed by a board of
directors that includes members of the community, and delegates representing Greater Boston UU churches.
Major programs center on
education and
enrichment, housing and support service, and community development. Educational and enrichment initiatives in the Roxbury community include after school and Saturday programs for children and youth, summer camp, teen employment, and English tutoring for non-native English speakers. Renewal House provides emergency shelter and services for those fleeing abusive living situations. Bethany House offers affordable housing for young women and those transitioning from the emergency shelter. The community development project, known as Jericho Road, matches volunteer experts with non-profit service organizations with the objective of assisting the non-profit to strengthen its organization and operations. The initiative is operative in Roxbury and four other cities in Massachusetts, including Lynn.
By making a contribution to the UU Urban Ministry, you are helping the organization continue its nearly two hundred year collaborative efforts to create opportunities and instill hope for the underserved.
Please make checks payable to UU Urban Ministry.

Lynn
Partnership Search Committee
After service this past Sunday, Michael Celona and Scott Nowka spoke in the Parish Hall about Vision of Ministry item #4, which sketches a path forward for partnering with an organization in Lynn to further UUCGL values supported by our hands and a portion of our endowment. As discussed, the next step is to form a Lynn Partnership Search Committee. This committee will work over the next year and a half to identify a possible partner. It is expected that this will be a time-intensive effort. If you are interested in being considered for the committee, please contact Michael ([email protected]) or Scott ([email protected]) as soon as possible. If you are interested in this effort but cannot commit the time, be assured that there will be time for you to provide your input during the process. Thank you.

Kids! Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt is just around the corner!
On Easter Sunday, April 1, immediately after the service, all children (teens too!) are to meet Suzanne Chapman in the Fellowship Room to get baskets and instructions. Don't miss out! Also, some kids will pick up a lot more eggs than others, so please share if you see someone who doesn't have a lot in their basket. You're all such great kids, I know you would anyway!

Wingmasters Birds of Prey
Live Bird Show
April 8 - 12:00 Noon
Admission is free but donations gratefully accepted. Suggested donations: $5 single, $10 family
WINGMASTERS is a part
ne
rship of two people
dedicated to increasing public
understanding
and appreciation of North American birds of prey. Julie Anne Collier and J
im
P
ar
ks are both licensed raptor rehabilitators based in Massachusetts. Together
they care for injured birds of prey. Most of the birds they rehabilitate can ultimately be released back into the wild, but in some cases the birds are left permanently handicapped. Julie and Jim are further licensed to provide a home for these non-releasable raptors, and to use them for educational programs. Since 1994 WINGMASTERS has presented over 5000 programs at schools, libraries and museums throughout New England.
WINGMASTERS programs are noted for a calm atmosphere that promotes learning. There is always an interactive exchange of questions and answers during the program. However, for the safety of the audience and the well-being of the raptors used in their programs, the birds are never free-flown and are never handled by anyone but Julie and Jim.
This event is sponsored by the Church's Green Sanctuary Ministry Team which is committed to building awareness of environmental issues and generating interest for personal lifestyle changes leading to a more sustainable world.

Help Us Welcome Newcomers!
It's so important to have a friendly, warm, and welcoming presence in the foyer on Sunday mornings before worship. You don't need to be trained or signed up. Just park yourself there and say hello, get folks name tags, and show them where the sanctuary is.
Everyone in the church community is hereby deputized Official Greeter! We have so many newcomers lately; let's help them feel at home.

Covenant Group
Covenant Group is open to anyone from the church interested in learning about and experiencing small group ministry. Gatherings are 11:45-1:00 p.m.
in the "Faces" classroom, the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. If you are interested in joining this group, or even just sitting in to see if you like it, please speak to
Lyssa Andersson or Suzanne Forgione.
We encourage visitors to try it out for at least three consecutive sessions to get a real feeling for the group. One need not be a UUCGL member, or even a Unitarian Universalist to join a covenant group here.

Dialogue Group
"Dialogue" is a way of practicing deep listening that enables us to share personal experiences and thoughts in a way that collectively builds a more expansive understanding of ourselves and the world around us. We move from reaction to connection. The dialogue is preceded by a short "discursive meditation." Dialogue and the discursive meditation are part of the method of Cafh, a path of spiritual unfolding. For information about Cafh: www.cafh.org; the discursive meditation: http://www.seedsofunfolding.org/issues/08_11/inspiration.htm and dialogue,
