Reflection...

Beloved community -

I hardly have words to thank each of you who participated in last Sunday's service of blessing and the Annual Meeting.  The love, kindness and generosity that is YOU was completely palpable.  I was in awe.

Such good things are happening at UUCGT!  This Sunday, we celebrate a beloved ritual - the Flower Communion - in conjunction with a service lovingly crafted by Betsy Emdin.  Bring a flower to share and you will be blessed in return.

Also, a reminder to those who wish to attend the interment of Bill Wells here at the UU memorial garden, that will take place on Friday, June 9 at 11:00 AM.  A celebration of Bill's life will take place at the Northport Marina Pavilion on Saturday, June 10 at 3:00 PM.  Lawn chairs are encouraged.  In case of rain, the service will move to Trinity Church in Northport.  Those wishing to honor Bill's life are invited to make a donation to UUCGT.

A few notes:

- There will be no Sunday service on July 2 - we are giving the Sunday Services Committee a Sabbath!

- Rabbi Chava will be taking a sabbatical in July.  The purpose of this time is to rest and reflect.  I have a long reading list planned, will make pilgrimage to Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky, will be doing a naming ceremony for my great niece (whose Hebrew name is also mine), and speak at a conference for the Education Sisters of Saint Francis in Milwaukee.

Thank you for supporting me in taking some time for spirit and family.

In blessing -
Rabbi Chava

"Poetry of the Earth:  A Service in Song and Word"

Through poetry, story and song we celebrate the coming of Summer.
We will honor the beloved tradition of the Flower Communion.

Please bring a flower to share at the service and we will each have an opportunity to choose a different flower that speaks to us to take home.

Sunday programming for Children and Youth throughout the remainder of this program year will complement Sunday Services in our efforts to move closer to congregational thematic ministry.  This thematic calendar will explore the Six Source traditions, and consider wisdom from around the world.
