Sadly, Nancy McCartney passed away early on the morning of August 3rd at the hospice facility in DC. Sons Kevin & Erin were with her and said the passing was very peaceful. They relayed all messages received from various emails and cards and could tell she enjoyed hearing them. They appreciate all of the love and caring. A memorial service will be held at UUFF (tentatively Sept. 22nd). More details will be provided as plans come together. Please keep the McCartney family and Nancy's many friends in your thoughts and hearts.

UUFF is teaming up with the AR Chapter of Poor People's Campaign to support Get Out the Vote , and you can help!
UUFF has been approved for a $500 UUA grant to support  Get Out the Vote work with the Arkansas Chapter of the Poor People's Campaign . Solomon Burchfield, one of the Arkansas PPC's try-chairs, recently led one of our Adult RE discussions and shared information about the PPC's work that includes efforts to get marginalized populations to the polls in November. We are awaiting details about how we can help, but we do know that the National PPC office is planning a nationwide voter registration weekend the evenings of Aug. 23, 24, and Saturday August 25 . We also anticipate that there will be training to help us do an effective job.

Please mark your calendars and let Susie Schroeder know if you can help with this important work in August.  As soon as more information is available, she will be contacting you with more details. You may email Susie at SHS1949@gmail.com .
