Welcome to the Fall Newsletter!
|
As we embark on a brand new year at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, we couldn't be
more excited for the variety of entrepreneurial programs that are planned for 2016-2017. Each year, the programs see tremendous growth - whether it's at events/contests or participation in program cohorts - and they continue to only get
bigger!
The
Alta Resources Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation has now been in existence for five years and has proven to be a truly impactful resource for students of every discipline. Not only does the CEI continue to thrive and become the go-to resource for aspiring entrepreneurs, but people from all over the state are reaching out to see where potential partnerships can be established and how are model can be imitated. It is extremely humbling to see first-hand the impact
we are making in Wisconsin.
Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you find the fall edition newsletter enjoyable!
Sincerely,
|

Party.0 is Going on a National Tour
Jake White, a UW Oshkosh alumnus and past participant of the CEI's programs, is on a mission to take
Party.0 across the country!
After raising just over $10,000 in a recent crowdfunding campaign via
Indiegogo, Jake is ready
to spread sober parties across the entire n
ation - beginning next February.
Party.0 began abo
ut four years ago when Jake started throwing sober parties as a Junior at UWO. He believed that
students shouldn't feel like the only way to have fun in college is to drink. They should have options. But there wasn't a place for students to go on the weekends that wasn't centered around a keg, so he created one.

2016 Summer Incubator Program: Final Team Updates |
Golf Shots,
founded by Dylan Parks & Brad Ploch, is the first shot
glass to look identical to a normal
golf ball.
After participating in the Summer Incubator, Golf Sheets was able to finalize their packaging, tweak the design of their completed product, identify a trusting manufacturer, place an order for 10,000 units, begin to fulfill pre-orders, and establish many relationships with potential distributors and licensors in our local area.
ActiveEDU, founded by Jo
rdan Rhodes & Dan Brosm
an, is an
online platform that allows
teachers, children, and parents to access thousands of bodyweight
exercise videos that are also blended with educatio
nal
content.
At the end of the program, ActiveEDU was able to successfully renew a contract with Agnesian HealthCare, expand into Milwaukee Public Schools and Syracuse, raise an additional $50k in funding, bring on two executive officers from major health care companies, build out a team of sales contractors, complete over 3,000 videos for the program, and completely redesign/launch a new platform.
