Trilogy Tidings
June 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in this issue
     OK, I'm really taking a shortcut this month -- just pointing you to an interesting and provacative article.  And, I'm certain that you noticed (You did notice, right?) that I skipped May's newsletter entirely.  Sorry.  I had plenty to say but not enough time to say it; we're relocating and opening an office elsewhere, so project work and relocation details got the best of me.  More on that in my second story.
     The first story is about an article that really rang true when I read it.  (I don't like reading stuff I disagree with.)  You might enjoy withdrawal from your workaday world for a few moments to peruse this piece.
Regards,
Joe
Uncomfortable Realities
     Pete Kissinger (no relation, I guess) offers up some provocative thoughts in the May issue of Drug Discovery News.  His thoughts have little to do specifically with drug discovery.  Rather, they're broadly applicable to technology companies in general and particularly medical technology companies.  His article is a 5-minute read.  Have a look and see if his views ring true for you.
A New Office
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     We are relocating our business to the Research Triangle in early July.  This will offer me the opportunity to continue the Trilogy Associates management consulting practice as before while cultivating some new local relationships with the medical technology community in North Carolina.  That sounds quite "corporate", don't you think?  In fact this is a family-centered decision.  Nevertheless, the Research Triangle has always held interest for me, and it continues to be a vibrant technology-driven community, kind of like Boston was about 30 years ago.  We're looking forward to the move, although we will obviously miss seeing our Boston-based friends and business associates as frequently as we would like.

     In case you've been in a cave for the last 10 years, electronic communication is where it's at these days, so physical location is less relevant than it once was.  From a consulting-business perspective nothing will change except our physical address, which will be:
4068 Fearrington Post
Pittsboro, NC 27312

(You'll need a different address for courier (FedEx, UPS, etc.) deliveries.)

     I'll close the Medfield office on June 24 and open the new Pittsboro digs sometime in early July.  I don't expect my email address to change.  We don't have a new landline phone just yet, but my cell phone (508.320.4409) can be used during the transition.  I'll keep you informed.

     I look forward to continuing our relationship -- including these relentless newsletters -- albeit from a different base of operations.
