Bringing you closer to the lives you help change.

Thank You!
So far in 2016, you've helped us raise over $113,000 and impact over 15,000 children in Missouri and Illinois. Thank you for your ongoing support and confidence in our mission!

Did you know youth violence, child neglect and abuse, and learning delays can be reduced and life success can be increased through early childhood intervention? Also, teens are less likely to engage in risky behavior, such as committing crimes or becoming a teen parent, if enrolled in after school programming.

Your support fights against youth violence, educational inequities, nutritional inadequacies, and child neglect and abuse.  Your support gives our children opportunities to succeed!  We couldn't do it without you.  Thank you!

Many exciting things are happening at United 4 Children, and there are many opportunities to get involved.  Keep reading to learn more!

Sincerely,

Dawn Winkler

Katelyn's Big Move
A lack of "tummy time" for an infant can dramatically delay physical growth and motor development leading to delay in social, emotional, and educational skills. When six month-old Katelyn started school, she was not able to raise her head or roll over.  Her childcare giver was worried that Katelyn would not be able to walk in an age appropriate time frame.

In 1 Day You Can Make a Difference!
On Tuesday, May 3rd United 4 Children will once again participate in Give STL Day.  The St. Louis Community Foundation is again joining hundreds of community foundations across the country for the biggest day of giving in history.

Give STL Day is a 24-hour giving event that helps our local nonprofits.  Imagine the impact we can have when the whole community comes together to give on May 3rd!  Click here to view our United 4 Children Give STL Day page.

Volunteer Opportunities

For the last year United 4 Children has worked in partnership with Beyond Housing and Washington University to provide a Move 2 Learn program.  This program is based on volunteers working with child care staff each week on how to promote physical development in infant and toddler classrooms. If you are interested in volunteering each week in an early childhood classroom please reach out to Elisa Zieg at [email protected].

U4C Early Childhood Specialists

Several United 4 Children staff and Childcare owners involved in the PAQ project joined the Missouri Alliance for Children, Youth, and Family "Child Advocacy Day" event in Jefferson City on April 6th.  These individuals took time to meet with several Missouri legislators and networked with hundreds of other participants to help advocate for children and the early childhood field.
