Consider the Radiance: Flower Communion Family Sunday

Come celebrate the affirming, uniquely Unitarian Universalist ritual of Flower Communion. Developed by Czech Unitarian minister Norbert Čapek who died a martyr at Dachau, the ritual celebrates the intrinsic beauty of each and every soul. Bring a flower for the arch. This is a celebration for the entire church family. Each service will include a dedication ceremony for older children. Musicians: Mila, Children's Choir, Youth Ensemble, Parents and Friends choir joining in.

The offering recipient is Faith Builders Habitat for Humaity

Workshop to Expand a Community of Young Families
Saturday, May 19, Foote Room
Family therapist Bill Doherty will lead a workshop on the challenges and possibilities for Unitarian Universalist families trying to pass on our liberal religious heritage to our children. This workshop will be both a learning opportunity for parents and a way to become a part of a growing community of families. We are transforming the way we think about raising our children in the Unitarian Universalist tradition. Childcare provided. Contact Pamela Johnson at
pjohnso@comcast.net by May 14 to RSVP.
Unity Tomorrow
Ground Breaking Ceremony and Celebration
Sunday, May 20, at 12:15 p.m.
On Sunday, May 20, everyone is invited to gather in the Greenspace (just east of the Sanctuary) and then process to Grotto street for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction at Unity Church. Members of the congregation who attend the 11:00 a.m. service will process out of the Sanctuary and will be joined by those gathered in the Greenspace.

The celebration will include a ceremonial blessing of the building and workers, music, refreshments, and supplies to make a prayer flag which will hang in the new Religious Education space. If you would like to bake treats (we'll need plenty and you can bring them with you to church on Sunday), help with set-up or clean-up, or serve lemonade, please contact Martha Tilton by email at martha@unityunitarian.org or by phone at 651-228-1456.
