Until We Meet Again

It is with a mix of sadness and excitement that I am writing to let you know that I will be moving on from Pride Center of Vermont. Although my last day will not be until Pride, on September 11, I wanted to let you all know so that you can do what you do best-help PCVT to grow and maintain its presence as an integral part of Vermont's LGBTQA community. Please spread the word about this amazing opportunity to lead an organization that has such a positive impact on the lives of Vermonters. Help us to bring in a dynamic, visionary leader who values greatly LGBTQA community organizing and services.

Five years ago, I was delighted and humbled to join Pride Center of Vermont's team. The organization and its community had done so much in helping to create a safe space for LGBTQ Vermonters; secure vital legislative protections; and provide a set of programs to help our community thrive. From my first interview through to this letter, I have felt supported and lovingly challenged, always in the context of concern and excitement for our community. I am comforted in knowing that I am leaving the Center in good hands because it is right where it has always been-with you.

Where am I going? Ana, our five critters, and I are headed to Chicago. I have taken a position at the Center on Halsted as their Chief Operating Officer. I will do my very best to not continually compare their LGBTQA work to the amazing work that happens here in Vermont, but that won't be easy because you all are such an awesome community.

If you've some time, stop by. It would be lovely to see you. Thank you for making this adventure so worthwhile. Now, spread the word so that we attract a whole bunch of stellar candidates!

With much gratitude,

Kim Fountain
