Greetings!

With four weeks remaining in the semester, students are officially counting down to the end of the school year and Commencement. The last day of classes is April 30 and final exams begin May 2.

Encourage your student to finish strong by visiting the Student Success Center for an extra tutoring or supplemental instruction session. The Writing Lab is also available to help students edit final papers and projects.

Remind your student to stay physically and emotionally well as they prepare for final exams with Campus Recreation. They can enjoy the sun by the outdoor pool or join a group exercise class to clear their mind and get moving.

You're Invited: Presidential Event in NYC
Join the University of South Carolina President Harris Pastides and First Lady Patricia Moore-Pastides in New York City at Arader Galleries for an evening of libations, art and conversation about Ms. Moore-Pastides’ new book, At Home in the Heart of the Horseshoe . My Carolina Alumni Association Announcements
Ring Ceremony
My Carolina Alumni Association is hosting the spring 2018 Ring Ceremony on the historic Horseshoe Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. All students who purchased their Carolina ring this semester are eligible to participate in this special University of South Carolina tradition. Registration and ceremony details are available at mycarolina.org/RingCeremony

 Grad Dine
My Carolina Alumni Association invites graduating students, families and friends to dine at the USC Alumni Center before or after Commencement. Take the hassle out of finding a reservation and celebrate by attending dinner Friday, May 11 at 6 p.m. or lunch Saturday, May 12 at noon. Registration and full details are available at mycarolina.org/GradDine .

We look forward to welcoming the class of 2018 into the alumni family!
Residence Hall Move-Out
Non-graduating students are encouraged to move out of their residence hall 24 hours after their last exam, but are required to move out no later than 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10. 
CarolinaCard Office Updates
Meal Plan Reminders
Meal plan dollars, declining balance meal plans, and traditional meal plans will expire at the end of the semester. CarolinaCa$h will rollover to the next semester/school year. Encourage your student to utilize their CarolinaCa$h for food and beverages at campus sporting events and in the local community.

To add CarolinaCa$h, follow the steps below:
  1. Go to: get.cbord.com/sc
  2. Select “Click Here to Deposit into a Student's Account” under Parents, Guardians or Other Relatives
  3. Enter your student’s information (VIPID, last name, date of birth)
  4. Enter billing information
  5. Confirm information
  6. FINISHED!

News from the Bursar's Office
Spring 2018 Payment Plans
The last payment installment for students enrolled in a spring 2018 payment plan is due Tuesday, April 10.

Summer 2018 Bills
Summer bills will be available after April 19 for students registered in summer courses.

Payment Deadline for Fall 2018
Tuition and fees are due by Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. Bills can be viewed via Self Service Carolina (SSC) in mid-July. Bills are only available when a student has registered. For incoming students this will be after they attend New Student Orientation. The mailed payment deadline is Aug. 6. We strongly suggest sending mailed payments as express mail if necessary to meet the deadline.

The 2017-2018 tuition and fee schedule can be used to estimate the fall 2018 total. Please keep in mind, however, these rates are subject to change. Finalized tuition and fee information for the 2018-2019 academic term will be posted following the Board of Trustees budget approval in late June.
Together We #Give4Garnet
On April 18, the University of South Carolina will launch its first system-wide giving day, Give 4 Garnet. On this special day, members of the Carolina community will donate to an area of the university that means the most to them and collectively raise $3 million to support today’s students.

To donate during the Give 4 Garnet campaign, please visit give4garnet.sc.edu, starting April 18 at 5:59 a.m. If you would like to make a gift before Give 4 Garnet, please visit giving.sc.edu/challenge to add your donation to our Give 4 Garnet Challenge Fund.

Encourage your student to get involved with Give 4 Garnet by visiting us on Greene Street, April 18 to participate in activities and receive giveaways! There will be:
  • 9-10 a.m. Free Starbucks coffee
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Social media vending machine to win prizes including gift cards
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Canned food donation collection to benefit Gamecock Pantry (the first 100 donations get a free meal at Grand Marketplace)
  • 11 a.m.-2 p.m. DJ
  • 11:45 a.m. 2018 Homecoming theme reveal

Healthy Carolina Farmers Market
April 3, 10, 17, 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Greene Street
A convenient way for USC students, faculty, staff and community members to shop for fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce and sustainable products. It aims to emphasize the direct connection between local food choices people make and the quality and health of our environment and daily lives.

Pet A Pup with PAALS
April 17, 10 a.m.- noon, Center for Health and Well-Being Patio
Students can pet away their worry and stress with service dogs in training! For many students, being away from home often means saying goodbye to their dog, a constant, trusted confidant. Students can pet a PAALS pup and learn about other programs being offered by Healthy Campus Initiatives.

Stressed is Desserts Spelled Backwards
April 20, noon-1:30 p.m., Center for Health and Well-Being Demonstration Kitchen
As the semester beings to wrap-up, it’s easy to get caught up in the growing to-do lists, assignments, and plans for the future. Students can learn about the impact of gratitude and mindfulness on well-being and prepare some creative recipes with a registered dietitian. Students need to r egister by April 13 to take part.

Belk Pathways-to-Professions
Friday, April 6, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Students interested in working in retail or who have goals of being a buyer, merchandiser or purchaser are encouraged to sign up to visit Belk headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. This event will include a tour, an information session and panel of USC alumni! Transportation is provided by the Career Center. SEC & ACC Virtual Career Fair
