On-demand video exposure isn't the only big drawcard to the North American Road Racing Association's two national series, the US GT Championship and Whelen US TimeTrial Championship. Open to high-end, high-performance GT cars, the two championships-- one for wheel-to-wheel road racing, the other time-attack-- are paying out big in the form of impressive contingencies from Cool Shirt, Hoosier Racing Tire, GoPro, Moton Suspension, Sunoco Race Fuels and Teamtech.
In the US GT Championship alone, a staggering 11 different individuals have won free Hoosier Racing Tires after only two race weekends.
The statistic not only speaks volumes on the generosity of NARRA's contingency program but the competitive nature of the series and its even playing-field-- thanks in part to simple rules and four power-to-weight based classes.
Really proving that NARRA winners will be grinners this season one of those individuals, triple race winner and GT-1 competitor Frank Lussier, has already netted himself one and a half sets of free tires.
Up to $200,000 worth of contingencies will be awarded during the 2012 US GT and Whelen US TimeTrial championships from Hoosier, GoPro, Moton, TeamTech Cool Shirt, Moton and Sunoco.
NARRA's partnership with Sunoco is benefiting competitors in a number of other ways, too. As Official Fuel, Sunoco Race Fuel is now available at every NARRA event, giving racers guaranteed access to a consistent and reliable fuel supply throughout the season while eliminating the risk involved with hauling high volumes of fuel to events.
First and second place round winners in all classes, in both the USGTC and USTTC, are awarded free Hoosier racing tires, Cool Shirt and Moton Suspension gift certificates. Sunday first and second place class finishers receive Sunoco gas cards.
The TT and GT class champions will receive a complete Cool Shirt 'club' system, a GoPro Hero 2 camera, and a Teamtech six-point harness. Moton is further giving first, second and third in the championship vouchers worth $500, $300 and $200.
With such a grand offering it's no wonder in-excess of one hundred cars competed at NARRA's recent Road Atlanta event.
The number of entries is quickly growing, too, for next week's rounds 5 and 6 of the US GT and Whelen US TT championships at Road America. The May 11-13 event will feature the SRT Viper Cup series and US Performance Driver Education track-day program, open to all high-performance road cars, and Friday will coincide with last circuit based competition stages of the 2012 Tire Rack Brock Yates' One Lap of America.
