Washburn Law is sponsoring several upcoming continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities. CLEs in July, August, and September will be in the areas of oil and gas law, contracts and conveyances, and family law.

Drafting Contracts and Conveyances
Drafting Contracts | July 22-25 | 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Location: Washburn University School of Law 
Cost: $600 for both courses; $300 for contracts or conveyances only 

Professor David PierceThese advanced courses in contract law and property law will teach drafting techniques and provide participants with the opportunity to practice the skill of legal drafting in various transactional settings. Professor David Pierce will guide participants in analyzing, researching, and writing documents that respond to specific simulated client scenarios.
Oil and Gas Conservation Law and Practice
August 10-12, 2013

Location: Wichita, Kansas 
Cost: $600 for entire course; $200 for any single day

Every oil and gas producing state has a "conservation commission" that regulates all aspects of oil and gas development from drilling to abandoning wells. Professor David Pierce, assisted by practitioners, will examine the statutes and regulations administered by the Conservation Division of the Kansas Corporation Commission and the laws and practices that have developed around the Kansas programs. Day 3 of the CLE will be held at the Division's offices and include mock proceedings.
7th Annual Domestic Case Management Training
August 15-16, 2013

Location: Washburn University School of Law 
Cost: $180 for both days; $120 for Thursday or Friday only
Late registration: $200 for both days; $140 for Thursday or Friday only

This annual two-day CLE brings together attorneys, counselors, case managers, and other professionals to discuss domestic case management practice in Kansas. The CLE will cover a variety of topics. The second day will offer ethics training for case managers and close with the "The Judicial Perspective on Case Management" judges panel presentation. 
Advanced Family Law

Location: Kansas City Country Club, Mission Hills, Kansas
Cost:  $249
Photograph: Family. Family law practitioners across the region and nation will speak on advanced family law topics such as electronically stored information; pre-marital, post-marital, and co-habitation agreements; ethics; and business valuations. Co-sponsored by the Children and Family Law Center and the regional chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
