EXHIBITION: Who I was, who we are

September 29 - October 20 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in Milliken Art Gallery - FREE
Who I was, who we are will feature the latest work from Yvette L. Cummings in the Milliken Art Gallery. Cummings’s work explores the complicated path of youth, beauty and femininity as expressed through the viewpoint of a sexual abuse survivor. “I am interested in the way female bodies are not autonomous; whether the victim of sexual assault or the governments constant regulation, ownership of my body is not my own. I want to exert power back to the body, regardless of gesture or appearance,” states Cummings.
