Knit Lit - Last Wednesday of the month 6:30pm to 7:30pm
The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood is our current selection. Please read it by our next meeting and come with questions. Tina, our leader, suggested we think about what the writer was trying to accomplish by writing certain sections as she did and how her words effect us in our lives.
Jessica has returned! Many of you may remember Jessica Dekker. She moved from Columbia soon after I purchased the shop. She was a frequent instructor here prior to that time. She is a long-time crafter and serious lover of all things yarn. Shortly after graduating from college, she realized a 9 to 5 office job was not her thing, so she began at a yarn shop in Michigan. Since she had been knitting and crocheting from the age of 8, she knew this was her element. She has picked up a wealth of knowledge and technical skill from helping countless customers with all sorts of projects, and has hundreds of hours of teaching under her belt. Most recently, Jessica spent two years managing Looped Yarn Works in Washington, DC, where she got to meet traveling fiber enthusiasts from all over the world. She also made her debut as a knitwear model for Capitol Knits, a creative, historical approach to knitting in and touring DC. A family move this summer brought Jessica back to the Midwest, where she's embracing the quieter life, honing her design skills, and breaking in a new sewing machine. You can find her on Ravelry under the name "jessibean" and follow her blog here (http://makingthisnow.wordpress.com/).
Is this ever you? If so, you might benefit from our two sessions below.
