Public Hearing
Thank you to everyone who attended our Public Hearing! The conversation and input we received will be greatly beneficial to develop our Community Action Plan (CAP).

This plan helps CAPOC, as an agency, to create an overall strategy to further our mission of eliminating the causes of poverty and alleviating its effects. Through the process of developing the CAP, community needs and concerns are taken into consideration. We use this information to develop programming to address these needs, continue and expand community partnerships, and become a more effective agent for community progress in meeting our vision of:

"An Orange County where all community members attain self-sufficiency."

We also welcome your comments on the draft version of the CAP (here) which you can send to us using the form found here or directly to  [email protected].  The last day to submit comments will be  June 9, 2017 .

Meanwhile, Back at Café du Monde
Fundraising event for CAPOC and our OC Food Bank
Save the Date: October 1, 2017 (Sunday evening)
Location: TBD

We are kicking off our Hope for the Holidays giving celebration by hosting Orange County's first ever "Meanwhile, Back At Cafe Du Monde" event!

This is a Unique, Festive Monologue Event About the 2nd Universal Language - FOOD and How Our Lives Revolve Around It! Chefs, Restaurant and Food Business Owners, our Board and Senior Staff, and Foodies are invited to share their 5-7 minutes holiday food stories. Up to 8 stories will be presented.

While this event has been presented across the county, with more than 2250 people sharing their life stories about food, our event is unique in that we will be specifically focus on how food impacts our lives during special family holidays and the impact it can have on our community's poorest residents.

The common thread is FOOD - an important part of our lives, our culture, and our personal stories. The event is a little bit of theater, a lot about cuisine, and a true cultural celebration of how food is a central part of our lives.
