Service Hour Opportunity
The Greater St. Louis Area Council and MERS Goodwill are teaming up with Shop ‘n Save to hold an Earth Day collection drive on Saturday, April 21. Volunteers are needed to help load and unload items at Shop 'n Save donation trailers . (Tip: Volunteering during the Earth Day drive counts towards conservation-related service hours!)
Learn Fishing Basics at Angler Education Day
Angler Education Day is April 14 at Hixson Middle School. This event aims to educate and introduce youth to the various aspects of fishing. More than 30 interactive stations will be available. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts can earn earn advancements requirements . Attendance is free but participants are asked to  register here .
Summer Camp Staff & Counselor-In-Training
We still have openings on our summer camp staff for 2018! Both youth and adults are needed to help deliver the promise of an exciting outdoor experience at all of our summer camps. To apply, please complete a camp staff application and email to Tony Fouts at [email protected] .

Free Wills & Trusts Seminar
All Scouters are invited to a free Wills and Trusts seminar put on by the Greater St. Louis Area Council Planned Giving Committee on Wednesday, April 18 at the Cohen Service Center in Belleville, IL from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This educational seminar, presented by Scout leaders who work with estate planning, is provided as a service to our Scouting community. We do not solicit any gifts during or after the seminar. Explore Venturing
Is your Crew looking for its next campout, activity, and recruiting event? Are your older Scouts interested in learning more about Venturing and experiencing high adventure? Bring a Venturing-aged friend or sibling for a weekend of activities and fellowship at Explore Venturing at Camp Warren Levis April 27-29. Tons of activities and a luau Saturday night will keep the fun going all weekend long.  Register now .
New Summer Camp Week Added At Swift High Adventure Base
From Brownsea Island to Robotics, Scouting means many things to those around the world. We'll take fun items from different parts of Scouting across the world and combine them into one awesome week, July 8-14 during "Many Facets of Scouting." Plan to check out Scouting from Asia, Europe, and even Exploring from home.  (Note: this session is contingent upon having a minimum of 60 youth registered.)  
STEM Summer Camps
  • Cub Scout STEM Twilight Camp (July 23-26, Beaumont Scout Reservation) will feature local STEM companies like AT&T and Daugherty Business Solutions that bring hands-on activities and cool demonstrations. Cub Scouts can earn 2 NOVA awards: the technology-themed Tech Talk Nova and the brand new, archaeology-themed Uncovering the Past NOVA!
  • At Boy Scout STEM Week, (July 18-22, Beaumont Scout Reservation) Scouts can choose from over 40 Merit Badges or NOVAS to earn each day. Cool STEM and camping activities are also available in the evening such as drones, 3D printing and underwater robots! 
  • STEM on CAMPus is a unique “camp” experience where Boy Scouts get a taste of college life! Sleep in the dorms, eat in the dining halls, and have fun each evening with a variety of activities including campus rec center nights! Scouts can earn up to 6 Merit Badges or NOVAs at each camp. June 3-6 at Southeast Missouri State University and June 6-9 at University of Missouri-St. Louis.
27th Annual St. Louis Eagle Scout Association Golf Tournament
Golfers of all skill levels are invited to the course for the 27th annual  St. Louis Eagle Scout Association golf tournament . This four-player scramble takes place at Old Hickory Golf Club on Monday, April 16. Revenue generated from the tournament is used to fund improvement projects at council camps.
National Youth Leadership Training: Prepare To Lead The Way
If your Scout is interested in further developing their leadership skills, National Youth Leadership Training is the training for them! Conducted during summer camp, NYLT is for Boy Scouts and Venturers who are at least 13 years old.
Ranger Program
Looking for something for your older Scouts or Venturers this summer? Look no further than the Ranger Program at S bar F Scout Ranch . This is the ULTIMATE program for youth who are at least 14, or in their fourth summer camp. Each day your crew will backpack to a different outpost at The Ranch. Expect to blacksmith at our forge, climb high into the trees on the ropes course, shoot a black powder rifle, relax by the Little St. Francis River, and much more! The Ranger program is great at preparing Scouts, Venturers, and adult leaders for Philmont. Be prepared to push your skills to the limit!

Variety Theatre Teen Intern Program
Variety Theatre is a fully inclusive, professional theatre company currently seeking teen interns to work on the production team. The internship program provides the opportunity to work side-by-side with some of the community’s top theatre professionals. Internships are available in the following production fields: Producer, Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Production Manager, Stage Manager, Scenic Designer, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Costume Designer, Hair/Wig Designer, Makeup Designer, and Prop Design/Carpentry. 2019 World Scout Jamboree
The 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia from July 22, 2019, to August 2, 2019. Participation is open to youth ages 14-17, unit leaders 18 and older, and International Service Team members (IST, aka Staff, 18 and older).
