Earth Day Donation Drive
If this rainy weather has you stuck indoors, why not get a jump start on some spring cleaning? On April 21, we're partnering with  MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries  for an Earth Day donation drive! Your unused clothing and household goods will be accepted free of charge at special donation locations setup at Shop N'Save stores throughout the council. View drop-off locations .

Cub Scout STEM Day
Located at Vatterott College in Fairview Heights, IL, STEM day on April 7 offers Cub Scouts an opportunity to do fun, hands-on projects and earn a STEM-based Adventure. Tigers earn Curiosity Intrigue and Magical Mysteries Adventure, Wolves earn Air of the Wolf Adventure, Bears earn Make it Move Adventure, and Webelos earn (most of) Earth Rocks Adventure.
Dad & Lad
Sign up now for a Dad & Lad weekend of camping, fishing, shooting, and fun at Camp Warren Levis (just outside Alton, IL), April 20-22. The theme this year is Gone Fishin' and the weekend will be filled with- you guessed it, unique fishing activities! The event is just $100 for each Scout and his partner and includes a t-shirt, patch, and all meals in the Camp Warren Levis dining hall.
NYLT: Prepared To Lead The Way
Through this week-long outdoor training, male and female Scouts grow and improve their leadership skills while following the guidelines of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouts earning the NYLT shield are better prepared to interact with adult leaders and face the challenges and demands ahead. STEM Summer Camps
  • Cub Scout STEM Twilight Camp will feature local STEM companies like AT&T that will bring hands-on activities and cool demonstrations. Cub Scouts can earn 2 NOVA awards, including the technology-themed Tech Talk Nova and a brand new, yet-to-be-released NOVA! 
  • At Boy Scout STEM Week, Scouts can choose from over 40 Merit Badges or NOVAS to earn each day. Cool STEM and camping activities are also available in the evening, including the US Navy’s underwater robots! 
  • STEM on CAMPus is a unique “camp” experience where Boy Scouts get a taste of college life! Sleep in the dorms, eat in the dining halls, and have fun each evening with a variety of activities including campus rec center nights! Scouts have the opportunity to earn up to 6 Merit Badges or NOVAs at each camp. June 3-6 at Southeast Missouri State University and June 6-9 at University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Catholic Cub Day
Experience how Scouts around the world live out their faith during Catholic Cub Day at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary on April 7. The event is $10 per participant. For more information,  click here.
New Youth Protection Training Course
The BSA places the HIGHEST importance on providing a secure environment for all Scouts. Sustained vigilance on youth protection is a central part of our culture which is why the BSA has developed new training and resources that will further strengthen our ability to protect youth. By October 1, 2018, all new and currently registered leaders will be required to complete the updated training. Training is available online 24/7 at www.scouting.org/youthprotection .
Learn Fishing Basics at Angler Education Day
Angler Education Day is April 14 at Hixson Middle School. This event aims to educate and introduce youth to the various aspects of fishing. More than 30 interactive stations will be available. Cub Scouts can earn requirements toward advancements and Boy Scouts can earn requirements toward merit badges. Attendance is free but participants are asked to  register here.
27th Annual St. Louis Eagle Scout Association Golf Tournament
Golfers of all skill levels are invited to the course for the 27th annual  St. Louis Eagle Scout Association golf tournament. This four-player scramble takes place at Old Hickory Golf Club on Monday, April 16. Revenue generated from the tournament is used to fund improvement projects at council camps.
Free Wills & Trusts Seminar
All Scouters are invited to a free Wills and Trusts seminar put on by the Greater St. Louis Area Council Planned Giving Committee on Wednesday, April 18 at the Cohen Service Center in Belleville, IL from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This educational seminar, presented by Scout leaders who work with estate planning, is provided as a service to our Scouting community. We do not solicit any gifts during or after the seminar. Everyone is welcome to attend and invite their friends. While there is no cost to attend, reservations are necessary by contacting Jim Nolan at 314.256.3032 or [email protected] .
Powder Horn Registration Closes Soon
During the Powder Horn weekend course, April 26-29 at Beaumont Scout Reservation, participants will learn about, and in some cases experience, activities such as shooting sports, climbing/rappelling, caving, flag folding/retirement, trek planning, sailing, orienteering, religious services, STEM, and much more. This course is designed to motivate and prepare adult and youth leaders (ages 16-20) to provide their unit with a variety of safe high-adventure activities.
Explore Venturing
Is your Crew looking for its next campout, activity, and recruiting event? Are your older Scouts interested in learning more about Venturing and experiencing high adventure? Bring a Venturing-aged friend or sibling for a weekend of activities and fellowship at Explore Venturing at Camp Warren Levis April 27-29. Each year, we honor a class of Silver Beaver Award recipients during the  Council Annual Recognition Dinner. Registration is open for our 2018 event scheduled for May 16 at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL. The 2018 Silver Beaver class will be announced next week!
