Be Well West Park: 8-Week Wellness Challenge
You are invited to take part in a fun competition, sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and local businesses. The goal is to educate and inform neighborhood residents on current health trends as well as provide motivation to stick with a fitness program during the summer.
This program is FREE and open to all adults. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants, based on weekly attendance, exercise minutes, weight loss, and healthy recipes! The first prize is $200, followed by the second prize at $100 and the third prize at $50.

Annual Town Meeting Set for Tuesday, June 20 at Saint Joseph Academy -- Please Join Us
Our 40th Annual Town Meeting will be held in the auditorium of
Saint Joseph Academy, 3470 Rocky River Drive, on Tuesday, June 20. It is free of charge and parking is plentiful. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. On your way in, be sure to sign up for a free raffle by placing your name in the large goblet at our table. Pick up the evening's agenda, and visit the display tables of local non-profit agencies to learn more about their programs.
The formal part of the evening starts at 7 p.m. and includes updates on neighborhood initiatives.
Councilman Marty Keane will provide news about city-related issues. In addition, several awards will be presented, including a Community Impact Award.
Refreshments include freshly baked cookies from K&K Portage Market, soft drinks, and bottled water.
We are grateful to the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital for their sponsorship of this key community event. We look forward to seeing you there!
West Park Residents to Show Off Their Gardens on July 8 & 9 for GardenWalk Cleveland
GardenWalk Cleveland is a free, self-guided tour of private gardens, community gardens, and home orchards in neighborhoods of Cleveland. This year, West Park is one of four communities being featured, along with Collinwood, Detroit-Shoreway, and Slavic Village. Show off your garden by applying online here. The deadline is May 30. The walk takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both July 8 and July 9. Maps will be available on the days of the event at West Park Station, 17015 Lorain Avenue, accessible from their back parking lot.

Asphalt Cinema Features Outdoor Family-Friendly Film, Games, Art, and Fun
Be sure to join us on the third Fridays of June, July, and August at Impett Park on West 153rd Street for our popular summer series: Asphalt Cinema. It's an evening of games and prizes that ends under the stars with a family-friendly movie.
In addition to games, art activities take place and everyone is entertained with the help of a DJ starting at 8 p.m. Kids draw characters from the featured film and win a prize! The artistic portion of Asphalt Cinema is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
Hot dogs, cold beverages, and fresh popcorn will be available for purchase from West Denison Baseball League. The movie and the fun activities are free of charge thanks to our Asphalt Cinema sponsor, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.

Newton D. Baker School of the Arts Hosts a Fundraiser on Wednesday Evening, May 17
Student art will be displayed for sale on May 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Newton D. Baker School of the Arts, 3690 West 159th Street. This award-winning school recently won a $5,000 award from the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage for their project on tolerance.
Discover what's happening in the school when you join in the fun Wednesday night! Dinner will be served from 5 to 5:45 p.m. followed by silent auctions, raffle baskets, and student performances in the auditorium. Come prepared to purchase unique art while being entertained by this talented student body.

On June 4, the 4th annual Kyle Carestia Memorial Fundraiser benefit Pups in the Park takes place at West Park Station, 17015 Lorain Avenue, from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 for a buffet dinner to benefit The Rescue Inn. It is sponsored by Style Mutt Dog Boutique & Daycare, 3525 Warren Road. Dogs are welcome on the patio, but they can't enter the restaurant.
