Wesley's Attic Clothing Distribution April 27-28

Wesley's Attic needs willing spirits and strong backs to help us distribute children's clothing the weekend of April 27-28!

We are partnering with Faith Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church, about 1.5 miles from FFUMC on Highway 70, who is distributing a Second Harvest truckload of food on Saturday, April 28. Faith Fellowship has a house on their property where we can set up and distribute children's clothing. We need volunteers on both Friday, the 27th, and Saturday, the 28th. On Friday we will move tables and totes to Faith Fellowship and set up for Saturday. On Saturday morning, we will distribute clothing and then return totes and tables to FFUMC. We are grateful for this opportunity to distribute children's clothing in April because we will sponsor only one Mobile Pantry later in July. Please drop by the Mission Table to sign-up for specific times, or respond on Realm. Thanks First Farragut!
Mark your calendars for VBS!

Holston Annual Conference
Hands on Mission

Every year in June, clergy and lay delegates for the Holston Annual Conference meet to worship together, ordain new ministers, nominate individuals for conference committees and conduct conference business.

In the same way that FFUMC implements a mission project for our week at VBS, the Holston Annual Conference coordinates a hands-on mission project to serve people in n eed. The Oak Ridge District is collecting health kits that will be sent to the Ishe Anesu Project for Underprivileged Children in Zimbabwe.

If you are interested in donating at kit, please
stop by the Serving
Team table on Main Street to pick up a bag with a complete list of items needed for the health kits.

Please return your kit to the Serving Team table no later than Sunday, June 3rd.

The kits will  be taken to the Oak Ridge District office by June 6-7, and then to the Annual Conference, June 10-13. The Oak Ridge District has set a goal of collecting 400 kits for this year's conference mission. Please pray about how you can help the conference this year.  We hope you will join us in contributing to this project.

As one who has said goodbye to many church members throughout the years in the moves from congregation to congregation as pastor, it is never easy for me to receive the goodbyes from members whose life transitions are carrying them to new destinations. Foremost on my mind are the moves of two active members, Colleen Zanti and Meg McCormick, to new and good opportunities in their lives. If you know them, you love them.

I share with them, and you, the abbreviated words and wishes of an order of farewell:

For a time, Colleen and Meg have lived with us. We have shared with each other good times and bad, we have shared each other's joys and sorrows, we have lightened each other's heavy loads. Together we have laughed and cried, together we have worshiped and praised God, together we have lived.

We feel sorrow in your leaving, yet we rejoice with you in anticipation of this new phase of your life. We will miss your love and support, yet we know you will add much to the lives of those who will be your new church family, as you have added much to our lives.

And this prayer:

O God, you are the strength and the protector of your people.
We humbly place in your hands Colleen and Meg who are about to leave us. Keep and preserve them, O Lord, in all health and safety, both of body and soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Colleen and Sam, have a blessed life in your upcoming move to Michigan. Meg, you are already Alabama bound. On behalf of the
First Farragut congregation, we look forward to our
"hello again!"

FFUMC's Annual Spring Outside Work Day
Saturday, April 14

Spring Cleaning of the church grounds and flower beds will now take place on Saturday, with an early start at 8:30 am. We will work until noon, when a light lunch will be available. Whatever time you can give would be appreciated. No tools are needed except for a wheelbarrow if you have one, and you supply work gloves. Work largely involves mulching and trimming, especially in front of the church and at the entrance.

Please sign email   Judy Westenhaver (603-3753) or Clark Brekke
(966-0608) if  you plan to attend and stay for lunch. Thank you for helping.

Security Plan
The Trustees have begun the implementation of our Security Plan. Integral to the plan is the monitoring of Main Street and the front door.  This will be done by having a dedicated usher positioned near the information desk from the start to the end of church services. These ushers will be instructed on their role and responsibilities. If you are willing to volunteer for this important position in our church security plan or if you would like more information, please email Steve Krupski.
