August 25: Dedication ceremony, 12 - 12:30 p.m., Boise High School Braves Athletic Complex. While not part of the 2017 Bond, the Braves Athletic Complex is a significant investment in Boise High’s students. It contains two regulation soccer fields, a junior varsity softball field, and a junior high and sub-varsity football field that are also being used for varsity football practice. The new parking lot and field house will be ready by late August. News media representatives and public are invited to dedication ceremony.

August 27: A forum to introduce candidates for the Boise School Board will be sponsored by the Boise Schools Education Foundation and will be held in the Board Room of the Boise School District’s Service Center, 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise on August 27, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Public is invited to attend. Boise School District 2018 Trustee Election information.
August 28: Dedication ceremony for Derhyl A. Dennis Technical Education Center Addition, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 3324 S. Pro Tech Drive, Boise. This 2017 bond supported project is the result of working closely with industry representatives in identifying the need for upgrading and expanding job training programs at the Center to help students better prepare for future postsecondary and career success. News media representatives and public are invited to dedication ceremony.
August 29: Dedication ceremony for Timberlne High School Classroom Addition, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 701 E. Boise Ave., Boise. This 2017 bond supported project will provide modern science labs and art classrooms that better meet the educational needs of students and staff members. News media representatives and public are invited to dedication ceremony.
August 30: Dedication ceremony for new Amity Elementary School, 10000 W. Amity Rd., Boise. This 2017 bond supported project, will provide a new modern educational facility to better serve the needs of our students, staff members and our school community.   News media representatives and public are invited to dedication ceremony.
September 3: Labor Day - No school for students in Boise School District (K-12).
September 4: Boise School District Trustee Election. Polls are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Community Schools' Ready, Set, Go Event Big Hit with Families: On Thursday, August 9, 2018, hundreds of Boise School District families turned out for the Ready, Set, Go back-to- school event sponsored by Boise School District's Community Schools program. See ajacent video for more information about this event. Families and students in need received back packs, sanitry kits, and many other items to help them prepare for the first day of school.

Services provided by Community Schools throughout the school year may include parenting information and support, help getting food and clothing, early childhood resources and volunteer opportunities for community members.
