August 24:
To celebrate the start of the 2018-19 school year, Collister Elementary School students will participate in the Second Annual Collister Elementary Back to School Parade, 11 a.m., 4426 W. Catalpa Dr., Boise. The parade will begin at Collister Elementary, travel east on Catalpa Dr. to Hawthorne Way and then return west on Catalpa Dr. to Catalpa Park where students will participate in lunch. The popular event is a positive way to kick-off another great school year!

August 25: Dedication ceremony, 12 - 12:30 p.m., Boise High School Braves Athletic Complex (pictured below). While not part of the 2017 Bond, the Braves Athletic Complex is a significant investment in Boise High’s students. It contains two regulation soccer fields, a junior varsity softball field, and a junior high and sub-varsity football field that are also being used for varsity football practice. The new parking lot and field house will be ready by late August.

August 27: A forum to introduce candidates for the Boise School Board will be sponsored by the Boise Schools Education Foundation and will be held in the Board Room of the Boise School District’s Service Center, 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise on August 27, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Public is invited to attend.

Dedication ceremony for Derhyl A. Dennis Career & Technical Education Center Addition (pictured below), 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 3324 S. Pro Tech Drive, Boise. This 2017 bond supported project is the result of working closely with industry representatives in identifying the need for upgrading and expanding job training programs at the Center to help students better prepare for future postsecondary and career success.

August 29: Dedication ceremony for Timberlne High School Classroom Addition (pictured below), 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 701 E. Boise Ave., Boise. This 2017 bond supported project provides modern science labs and art classrooms that better meet the educational needs of students and staff members.
