The Teaching Professions Meeting for March 4, 2016 has been cancelled until a later date.
OAFCS Annual Meeting
The Early Bird deadline for the Conference is February, 14, 2016.  The registration form and tentative program are at the website.

Adviser Position(s) on Ohio FCCLA Endowment
Board of Trustees
Adviser positions are available on the Endowment Board of Trustees.  The application and list of role and responsibilities are available  here.  Adviser applicants must:
  • Have a state and nationally affiliated FCCLA chapter
  • Be an active classroom teacher in the area of Hospitality & Tourism (Culinary, Hospitality), Education and Training (Early Childhood, Teaching Professionals) or Family and Consumer Sciences.  Please apply today for this position. The Endowment needs visionary advisers that will be faithful to the FCCLA organization. 
The endowment assist the Ohio FCCLA Association in its mission to develop bright, responsible leaders. The endowment has supported the organization through the awarding of scholarships, chapter grants, leadership development, and recognition awards for individuals and chapters.

Scholarship Applications due March 1, 2016
If you are a senior preparing to continue your education at a certificated program, technical school, or a two-year or four-year postsecondary school, the Ohio FCCLA Endowment has several scholarships available. Applications and instructions are available at the Ohio FCCLA Endowment website.   To qualify for a scholarship you must be an affiliated FCCLA member enrolled in one of the following programs:
  • Family and Consumer Sciences Program
  • Hospitality and Tourism (Culinary or Lodging) Programs
  • Education and Training (Early Childhood Education, or Teaching Professions) Programs
All applications, required recommendations and other required documentation are due by March 1, 2016.   All applications must be submitted electronically to [email protected].  Apply today.
Adviser National Leadership Grant
(Sponsored by Ohio FCCLA Alumni and Associates)

Description of Grant:
  • For advisers that receive little or no funding through their local school district to attend
  • Only for advisers who will accompany National Competitors to National Leadership Conference
  • Two Grants will be awarded
  • Amount of Grants TBD by A&A Officer team dependent upon funds available after State Leadership Conference
Grant Amount:
  • The amount of the Adviser Sponsorship Grant will be set by the A&A Treasurer and President based on funds available.
  • All checks will be sent to the school and made out in the Chapter's name. 
Requirements:
  • Must have a student or students that are FCCLA National Career Development Event competitors.
  • Complete the Grant Application. (Area provided below for explanation)
  • Letter from school treasurer or administrator explaining what funds have been provided by the school must be sent with the application. (Donations from outside sources, other than your school, will NOT be counted against you.  Also know that if your school/chapter is providing partial funding you are still eligible to receive the grant.)

Updated Ohio FCCLA Alumni Membership Form
Ohio FCCLA Alumni & Associates will offer FREE Alumni membership (to anyone interested in becoming a member of A&A) from now until April 27, 2016.  You simply need to fill out the membership and send it in.  Free membership will also be given to all college students (who are attending college the 4 years immediately following high school).
State Qualifiers
State Qualifiers will not be announced until 7 days after the conclusion of the last event.

Chapter Workshop Application
Ohio FCCLA State Leadership Conference planning committee invites chapter members to submit proposals for interactive workshops. The workshops are scheduled for April 28, 2016, at the Ohio Expo Center.  All workshops are to be presented by chapters and are 45 minutes in length.  Workshop proposals send to Kelly Jung at [email protected] by March 15, 2016.
Participant Change Form
Any name changes for regional competitions will be completed using the Participant Change Form .  The participant change form is to be completed and turned in at regional competitions to the event lead before participants compete.  Additional forms will be available at event locations.
Spirit of Advising
The Spirit of Advising award is awarded to a chapter adviser who demonstrates outstanding leadership and professionalism. This adviser educates their schools and communities on the importance of Family and Consumer Sciences education and FCCLA. Nominations forms can be found on the Ohio FCCLA website on February 16, 2016 and are to be submitted by March 15, 2016 to

Regional Competition payment reminder

Before chapters can compete at Regional Competition you will need to get your invoices paid. 
Service Learning Portal
Ohio FCCLA is excited to announce Ohio members have tracked  4,474  hours in the service portal.  Great work! Reminder that the portal closes March 1, 2016.
State Farm Scholarship
The State Farm Companies Foundation believes all children deserve an education that helps them reach their potential and prepares them for life.

Our support goes to programs that provide students the instruction, resources, and support they need to succeed.  The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to high school seniors who plan to attend college, technical, or vocational school, but may not be able to meet the expenses of a higher education without such aid and often do not qualify for other scholarships.

The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.

What will be awarded?
  • Up to fifty (50) selected recipients will receive a $2,500 award.
  • Awards may be renewed up to one additional year based on maintaining satisfactory academic performance and full-time enrollment.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.
When is the program deadline?
  • Your application must be submitted electronically no later than 11:59 P.M. on March 2, 2016.
  • Only the first 700 applications received will be accepted.
