Cole Road Update!

Come lend a hand!

Thanks to the great work of the professionals in our framing blitz, along with several very dedicated volunteers, the Cole Road home is weather tight!

In the next couple weeks, the electricians  and plumber will be working on the home.

On Tuesday, February 14, we will be having a "shovel out" day. George Burr and Son does a wonderful job plowing, but we'll need to shovel around the house to create paths to work. We'll begin shoveling at 1:00 pm. If you can help, please sign up online here or call 985-4850.

If you've had enough shoveling, but would still like to help, we can still have plenty of work to do on this home. Our typical build days are Friday and Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. No building experience or skill required! To sign up to volunteer, visit VolunteerUp, our online calendar here, or call 985-4850.

Please Vote for HFHYC in Bangor Savings Bank's
Community Matters More Contest!

Bangor Savings Bank is offering a simple way to show support for your favorite nonprofits during the month of February and all it takes is a bit of your time. The bank is looking to the community  to assist in distributing more than $100,000 to charitable organizations in Maine.

A total of 32 grants will be awarded to the organizations listed on the ballot and to the top 8 write-in recipients. The top two organizations in each of the eight regions (including write-ins) that get the most votes will receive $5,000 each. The remaining 24 organizations will each receive $1,000.

Please vote for Habitat for Humanity York County! Voting is simple: you can vote online HERE or fill out a paper ballot any Bangor Savings Bank branch or the Kennebunk ReStore.

Guatemala Trip Update!

March is quickly approaching for our team that will be traveling to Guatemala to the  Guastatoya District of the country to work on the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes for two families.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the trip through donations or participating in a fundraiser. For  those who participated in the nail guess contest in the ReStore, the total number of nails was 983. Congrats to our winner, Sue Green!

The group will also be taking donations of primary school level children's books with them to donate to local schools. If you have any gently loved story or picture books in English or Spanish that you are no longer using, you can bring to the ReStore by March 4th, and the group will gratefully deliver them to Guatemala!

Check Out Our Registry!

We're not married or having a baby, but HFHYC has a new registry! It is full of items needed in the office, at the ReStore, on the construction site, or for weatherization. You can view it here:  https://www.myregistry.com/public/hfhyc

While items on the registry are new, we would gratefully accept gently used items as well!
