In late August, Transgender Law Center Legal Director Ilona Turner and Staff Attorney Matt Wood took part in the Lavender Law Conference and Transgender Law Institute in Washington, D.C. The Lavender Law Conference is the largest annual conference for LGBT lawyers, with two full days of programming about issues related to LGBT rights.

Project HEALTH launches new website and national transgender medical helpline

Project HEALTH is proud to be launching TransLine, the first-ever national transgender medical consultation line. Project HEALTH, a collaboration of Transgender Law Center and Lyon-Marin Health Services, has partnered with experts in transgender medicine from the country's most prominent LGBT community clinics. 

TransLine's service offers health care providers up-to-date transgender 

clinical information, and individualized expert case consultation across the broad range of

clinical transgender issues. This service is offered free of charge to medical providers.

San Francisco launches Transgender Resource Manual  

Transgender and gender non-conforming folks in the City and County of San Francisco have a new transgender resource manual, thanks to the Department of Public Health. Find out what resources are available to you - especially for your health-related needs. Don't forget that a few of these providers (like Transgender Law Center) may be able to help you even if you don't presently live in San Francisco.

Masen Davis speaks at Anniversary of Compton's Cafeteria Riots

Transgender Law Center was very honored to be present in the 46th Anniversary of the Compton's Cafeteria Riots, which preceded Stonewall by a good 3 years and kickstarted the gay rights movement in America.

Speaking in front of the building that formerly housed Compton's Cafeteria, Executive Director Masen Davis shared the megaphone with other speakers including one of the original participants in the riots, Felicia Flames (Elizondo), who will be honored at the upcoming SPARK gala (see Save the Dates).
