June 2015

With 33 speaking events in 28 cities, it's been an exciting year, and I'm already putting next year in place.  I still have a few weekday slots left in the fall, then a bit more availability in the spring.

And speaking of spring 2016, look for an exciting announcement this fall.

In the meantime, this summer will take me to three cities in South Africa.  In preparation, I've purchased some new photographic equipment that I'm eager to use, and I've started posting my photos a little more widely.

As always, details are below.

So keep reading, then let me know what you think.

Events
Dr. Joel M. Hoffman Speaking Want to bring me to your community?  Fall is already pretty full, but I might be able to squeeze one or two more events in, depending on the timing.  Winter and spring of 2016 are better options at this point.

Also, I made a decision last winter:  Warmer climates get priority from December to March.  So if you have an enticing winter climate, let's talk.

Be in touch with me directly to take the first steps, or start by looking over some potential topics.

Photography
Woodpecker Landing
Photography has long been a passion of mine, and with an upcoming trip to South Africa, I'm eager to try out some new equipment.

If you use Instagram, you can follow me for exotic updates from South Africa and elsewhere.  I've also started posting some of my shots to 500px, which lets me sell prints.  And I still use Flickr.

(I'm not entirely happy with the on-line services I've found so far.  Any suggestions for something better?)

On-Line Articles
In between major writing projects (as I say, look for an announcement in the fall) and traveling to speak about what I've already written, I try to publish on-line pieces from time to time, both on the Huffington Post and on my own blogs.

Most recently, I addressed God's role in the death of an innocent three-year-old child.  What do you think?

Audio Books
My book about Bible translation and mistranslation, And God Said, was just released in audio format.  As with The Bible's Cutting Room Floor, this audio version is unabridged, and professionally narrated by the talented Jonathan Todd Ross.  I love how his voice brings the words to life, and if you enjoy audio books, I think you will, too.
Travel Spotlight
Charleston Flower

This travel spotlight comes from Charleston, SC.  I suppose these flowers are fairly common, but I'd never seen one before, and I thought it was pretty amazing.  Click on the image for a larger file that reveals the flower's exquisite detail.
