March 2014

There's so much going on.

With seven events behind me this semester and eight coming up, I'm right at the midpoint of my spring speaking tour.  Even so, I'm already putting next year's schedule in place, so now's the time to be in touch to talk about bringing me to your community.

In the meantime, many of you have asked me what happened to Kai Goodman and my thriller series, The Warwick Files.  Not to worry.  I haven't forgotten about him.  I've been focusing on non-fiction --- with the recent publication of The Bible's Cutting Room Floor and another volume coming soon (look for details in a bit) --- but I'm eager to return to fiction.

I've also started posting my photographs to Instagram, so if that's something you use, why not follow me and maybe even comment on a few of my photos?

Keep reading for more details.

And then write back with any thoughts.

Events
Dr. Joel M. Hoffman Speaking Now is the perfect time to start planning a lecture or longer scholar-in-residence weekend for 2015-16.  I still have some slots open in the fall, and a bit more availability in the spring.  Be in touch with me directly to take the first steps, or start by looking over some potential topics.

Photography
Woodpecker Landing
I love photography, so in addition to throwing my shots up on Flickr, I've started posting some of my favorites to Instagram.  This is an experiment for me.  Instagram doesn't let me post full resolution files, but it seems to be the go-to site for photos.  I'll hope you'll meet me there.

We'll see what happens, particularly because my travel schedule for the second half of the year offers some exceptional photography opportunities.

On-Line Articles
Wondering what I've been working on lately?  My on-line articles are a good way to find out.  Some, like " Three Things So Obvious That the Bible Left Them Out," summarize work that I've already published --- in this case in The Bible's Cutting Room Floor.  Others, such as " Why Professional Atheists Like Richard Dawkins Are Wrong About Religion," reflect publications that are coming soon.

Travel Spotlight
This travel spotlight comes from Corpus Christi, TX, which was my second of two stops in the southern part of that state.  What's remarkable about the photo is that this was winter.

To the right you can see what things looked like back home in New York.
