A Historic Day for Missouri REALTORS®
Friday, July 13, Governor Mike Parson signed House Bill 1796, The First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Act into law. The creation of this specialized savings account will give first-time homebuyers a financial advantage in the process of buying their first home.
The First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Act goes into law on January 1, 2019. Between now and Jan. 1, the Missouri Department of Revenue will promulgate rules on how to implement the program. Once those rules are established, Missouri REALTORS® is committed to preparing our members and the public on how to best utilize the program. For now, we celebrate by thanking  Becky Ruth, State Representative District 114 ,  and Senator  Caleb Rowden  for their hard work in getting this important legislation to the Governor’s desk. Finally, thanks to Governor  Mike Parson  for signing the First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Act into law! Also, signed was Senate Bill 581 which makes important changes in landlord and tenant law.
