On July 7, 2014 Israel began Operation Protective Edge, a defensive move made to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens who are living with unprovoked rocket attacks from Hamas. This costly mission has taken its toll on civilians and soldiers alike despite Israel's best efforts to end Hamas' acts of terror. Operation Protective Edge continues. Every day 6 million Israelis (80% of Israel's population) are under the treat of further rocket fire.

While Israeli civilians of all age, race and religion are hiding in bomb shelters, American opponents of Israel are flooding the offices of Government officials with letters and calls denouncing Israel's right to defend its citizens.
