Use It Or Lose It! 11/23/16
Use It Or Lose It! 11/23/16

Luke 12:48 (KJV)
48  But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2016!!

I PRAY all is well at your home and that ALL your loved ones are able to gather tomorrow to GIVE THANKS TO GOD!!!

You never know if you can do something until you try!!!

Tomorrow, I will cook my best version of collard greens-I hope they turn out good.

Some people would not EVER eat a turnip or collard green because they have never tried any!!??

My dear mother-in-law, (83 years young), cannot even stomach the thought of eating lobster-the king of seafood!!!

Can you believe that???

Jesus said:

" FOR UNTO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, OF HIM SHALL BE MUCH REQUIRED: AND TO WHOM MEN HAVE COMMITTED MUCH, OF HIM WILL THEY ASK THE MORE."

O often think of a story my old, wizened mentor used to repeat.

The story was that as he was explaining the Gospel yo an UN-saved individual, the person suddenly jumped up, plugged his ears, and DEMANDED the preacher hush!!

He said, The BIBLE says that I will "give an account/be held responsible for EVERYTHING I hear, and I DO NOT WANT TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for knowing that I should accept Jesus as my Savior!!"

Matthew 12:36 (KJV)
36  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

I have found that too often in THIS life, WE are timid and even afraid to attempt great things and not because of fear of FAILURE, but FEAR OF SUCCESS!!!!

INSTINCTIVELY, we understand that WHEN we are able to SUCCEED/ACCOMPLISH, we then become ACCOUNTABLE!!!!!

" FOR UNTO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, OF HIM SHALL BE MUCH REQUIRED: AND TO WHOM MEN HAVE COMMITED MUCH, OF HIM WILL THEY ASK THE MORE."

There is a huge difference between being an amateur/volunteer and being a professional.

WE would never visit an amateur/volunteer brain surgeon, would we???

The Apostle Paul said it best:

Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

YES WE CAN!!!

Again, however, too often WE are afraid to attempt great and noble things because we KNOW that WE CAN DO/ACCOMPLISH great things and we fear being held to that higher standard!!!

How wisely did the Apostle James write:

James 3:1 (KJV)
1  My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

This same Apostle further wrote:

James 4:17 (KJV)
17  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

In essence, the more WE know, the more is expected!!!!!

Jesus said:

" FOR UNTO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, OF HIM SHALL BE MUCH REQUIRED: AND TO WHOM MEN HAVE COMMITED MUCH, OF HIM WILL THEY ASK THE MORE."

Jesus CURSED the FIG TREE-WHY!!!???

Mark 11:12-14 (KJV)
12  And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13  And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14  And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Jesus CURSED the fig tree BECAUSE it was SUPPOSED to produce figs!!!

There is, and was no other reason for the fig tree's existence!

It COULD and should produce luscious figs and Jesus "WAS hungry!"

On this day of THANKSGIVING, Give thanks for what God has GIVEN you AND waste not the gift/gifts He has also bequeathed you-

" USE IT OR LOSE IT!!!!"

GOD BLESS YOU!
