VAL BURGESS
I have been asked to pass this message on by Robin and Wendy, son and daughter of Val Burgess.
Val died on Tuesday 3rd December after 4 weeks of illness.
She had been very active moving to her new home in Whitchurch in September, to be closer to here daughter and son, and was creating her new kitchen and craft room.
After a short period in hospital for various tests Val return to her home where she was with her family when she passed away.
Val remained active and was thinking of all the friends she made while doing her craft and creative activities in which she achieved so much in her retirement.
The funeral will take place at Shrewsbury crematorium on Friday 13th December at 3:15 pm. There will be an after funeral gathering at the nearby Lord Hill Hotel. Friends of Val are invited to join her family in saying goodbye.
No flowers please. Any donations received will be split between the Merioneth Spinners and Weavers Guild which gave her so much pleasure and Whitchurch Hospital.

On a personal note I was privileged to have had the opportunity to teach Val on her City and Guilds Diploma Course at Westhope College, many years ago now. She was always an incredibly enthusiastic and model student.....always willing to learn and try out new ideas. She also attended drawing courses with me at Westhope and then very recently joined my Moor Art 1 group in my studio at home, where she fitted in so well with the other students. She was a special person to so many of us and we are all richer from having known her.
