Colleagues, 

If you haven't heard already, Peter F. Buckley, M.D., has been appointed dean of the VCU School of Medicine, effective Jan. 17.  He will also serve as VCU Health System executive vice president for medical affairs. This is exciting news for VCU. 

Additionally, I would like to personally invite you to the CCTR Winter Warmer Open House event taking place Tuesday, Dec. 13. We will be providing dessert items and hot cider - please stop by and say hello.

Winter Warmer Open House 

Please join the VCU Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research on Tuesday, Dec. 13 for a Winter Warmer Open House with sweet treats and drinks at 4:00 p.m. in the Richmond Academy of Medicine's Research Innovator (second floor) located at 1200 East Clay Street.

CCTR Director in Northside Vibes Newspaper

F. Gerard Moeller, M.D., director of the VCU Wright CCTR,  penned an article for the front page of  Northside VIBES  on a three-pronged approach to addressing the drug overdose epidemic in Virginia. 

Look for a copy in the lobby of the Richmond Academy of Medicine building.
Certified Clinical Research Professional Exam 2017 and Prep Course

The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) will hold a Certified Clinical Research Professional exam on Friday, May 19, 2017. Interested individuals must register through SoCRA by Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

Karen Gau, research and education librarian for the VCU Tompkins-McCaw Library, will lead "Recipe for Success - Effectively Using Web of Science," and discuss how to effectively and efficiently use Web of Science to support your research. Participants can bring a lunch - drinks will be provided.

"CCTR Brown Bag Lunch Seminar: OnCore" (session five) - Dec. 15

OnCore - What is it? Why do you want to use it? 

Bring your lunch to the Kontos Medical Sciences Building, Rooms 104-105 on
Thursday, Dec. 15  and learn everything there is to know about OnCore. OnCore is a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) designed specifically for large academic medical centers with vibrant, expanding clinical research programs.

Robert Moulden, manager of clinical research informatics for the VCU Wright CCTR, will lead this final fall Brown Bag seminar.
