An Extra Special Thanksgiving
David Hoskinson was looking for a positive change in his life. He works as a truck driver, and it should take him 30 minutes by car to get to his job. Because he did not have a car, he sometimes had to hitchhike to work, or walk almost 3 hours to get there.
He has a one-year-old and a two-year-old who live with their mother in Pasadena. David lives in a homeless shelter and is not able to see his kids often, his youngest child barely knows him. He used to work a cab job, which allowed him to see his children more often, but as a truck driver it is difficult. He never knows when exactly his workday will end. Sometime he has to walk the 3 hours home late at night.
David's car award from Vehicles for Change allows him to take care of his essential needs. He is now abe to see his kids more often and will finally be able to take them on trips to Baltimore. He also looks forward to bringing his children with him to church. This an extra special thanksgiving for David, who finally found the positive change he was looking for.
