New Legislation Supports Community Housing Efforts
Last week, Ohio state legislators passed the state capital budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20, which appropriates nearly $30 million to DODD. The Ohio legislature also passed House Bill 24 that authorizes a real estate tax exemption for property owned by nonprofit organizations providing housing for people with developmental disabilities. After completing this training, service and support administrators can refer eligible people to the Ohio 811 Program, which connects potential tenants with disabilities to available housing units.
