Agencies Partner for Success
DODD and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities are entering their fifth year of their Employment First partnership! Working together has meant improvements for referrals, outreach, and collaboration with the local county boards of developmental disabilities, resulting in a greater number of employment outcomes and people served. Since the inception of the partnership, 1,587 people have been placed in competitive employment .

Med. Admin. Rule Changes
REMINDER: Rule changes for unlicensed personnel administering medication will go into effect in early November with mandatory implementation of changes Jan. 1, 2018.
 
Among the rule changes, direct service providers who are not certified to administer medication but who have taken state-approved annual training will be able to use vagus nerve simulators. DSP Add-On Incentivizes Training, Longevity
Incentivizing direct care staff longevity and rewarding efforts to complete professional training is one way DODD is responding to the needs voiced by stakeholders to address a shortage of direct service providers and a historically high turn-over of experienced providers felt across the state.
