Fall Festival Update

Thank you to everyone who has jumped in to fill the gaps created by the funding shortfall! We have just a few more items we'd like to solicit from the community.
If you can help with any of these needs please either call or email Barb Mahlmeister.

phone - 813-495-2719

Need 1:  Gasparilla / Mardi Gras beads. Please bring any unwanted beads to the garden as we give them to the kids as game prizes,

Need 2: Hay bales / small pumpkins. If you have either please bring on Friday. We use the bales for seating and the pumpkins will be used for signage / navigation. Please only bring bales and pumpkins that are in good shape, meaning not rotted.

If you have offered to bring tables / chairs, first of all, thank you!! Second, please be sure to put your name on your items so we get the correct ones returned to you. Writing your name on tape and affixing it to the table and chair bottoms works well.

THANK YOU for jumping in and helping us make this a great day for VISTA and the Greater Carrollwood community! See you Saturday!!!!

Ongoing Activities

Saturday Work Parties
Fulfill your community volunteer requirement by joining fellow gardeners on Saturday mornings to tackle the maintenance needs of the garden at large. It's a fun time and you get some exercise and the garden stays looking great. Keeping the garden regularly maintained prevents us from major intermittent workload.  The party starts at 9 a.m. every weekend, weather permitting.

Compost Thursdays
Committee members meet at the garden Thursday's at 8 a.m. to turn the compost. Please join the team if you would like to learn more about composting.

Compost Materials Needed
General reminder: To produce high quality input the community needs to provide a steady supply of material. This includes vegetable waste (garden r kitchen), leaves, cardboard and shredded paper. Please bring your waste to the garden, don't let it go to the landfill!
