The summer tele classes start the first week of June! You can register now. During the summer of 2011, we will be offering updated classes, brand new classes and our high-demand classes will be returning! Be sure to take advantage of the graduate credits available for most classes, too.

Best Practices in ActivBoard Flipchart Lessons (Level 3 Training) on July 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

   
PREREQUISITE: Level 2 Training or equivalent; Participants must use a self-assess skills checklist before enrolling.    


Enhance your ability to create professional and interactive Flipchart lesson activities! This class provides instruction and best practices for creating content with ActivInspire learning software. Available for teachers with intermediate or advanced skills in ActivInspire software, this class will teach you how to create interactive lesson activities based on curriculum standards and best practices scoring guides. You'll also collaborate with others to design and build lessons. You are encouraged to bring any curriculum materials you might need, such as teacher guides and supplemental materials. Lesson activities created in class will then shared with other teachers on the Promethean Planet website.

In the tele, learn how to use technology tools & how to integrate them into your classroom and lesson plans at the same time! Come try out our cross platform computer lab- the tele is equipped with computers that use Windows and Macintosh operating systems. You'll have the option of working either in a PC or Mac environment for any class. Or, if you'd like, bring your own laptop (BYOL!) and work from your very own computer.

Movie-Making in the Classroom: Creating Digital Stories and Photo Essays

 Wondering if movie making is too difficult?  This class is for you!  Help your students create digital stories by experiencing the process yourself. 
The class is a cross between a writer's workshop and a movie-making symposium.

 
Learn the pre- production, production and post-production phases of movie making. You will have an opportunity to choose one of three easy (and free) software programs to use: Windows MovieMaker, iMovie, or PhotoStory 3. Bring a story to share, or select from one of the stories provided. 

 Participants will walk away with their own 3-5 minute movie and ideas about how to help your students create one.

 On June 8, find out how to take your students anywhere in the world to connect with experts and collaborate with other students- all without leaving your classroom!

 You can make these connections using distance learning technology tools like Skype and curriculum videoconferencing. In this workshop, you will have the chance to learn how using videoconferencing and Skype fits into existing programs of study.
