Earth Day April 22 
Celebrate Earth Day at the VLM! Observe the animals as they receive toys, treats and other enrichment activities to stimulate natural behaviors. Learn more about protecting our environment and taking conservation measures. Earth-friendly vendors will show and sell green wares. There will also be crafts, eco-friendly giveaways, thousands of native plants for sale and earth-friendly animal shows. Plus, bring your batteries, cell phones, old sneakers, and plastic bags for recycling. Included in museum admission.

Choose from an incredible array of beautiful and unusual native plants for a variety of garden sites and styles, from wet ponds to dry rock gardens. VLM horticulture staff can answer questions and discuss the wildlife benefits of native plants. Admission to the sale is free, and it will be held in the Conservation Garden rain or shine.

Arrrgh Maties! Searching for treasures under the Sea? Mermaid or Pirate, which will you be? Ahoy, me hearties! It's time to grab your wooden leg and dust off your fin for a Mermaid & Pirate Party. Aaarrrgh you in? Create a treasure chest, walk the plank, meet a mermaid, and more. 

This is a family-friendly event; adults must accompany children.  

Cost: $15 per member (ages 2 and under free); adults and children must purchase tickets; refreshments included. Purchase tickets online  or at the museum admission desk.
