Conference Signups Due Today, December 14
If you have not yet signed up using the link in Mr. Dean's email, please find your student's section here and sign up for an open slot.
 
UPDATE on 8th-10th Grade Conferences: As Mr. Dean mentioned in his note, all students in these grades are asked to attend their conferences and present a plan for continued growth in the second semester. Teachers will be addressing this with their students this week. For details, see Mr. Dean's email. In addition, please note students who attend conferences have the option of wearing the school uniform, formal dress, or modest casual wear . Guidelines can be found in the Non-Uniform Dress Code for Special Events.

Study Skills Workshop, January 21
Feeling overwhelmed with studying? Want to get a jump on the new semester?
Attend the Study Skills Workshop on Saturday, January 21st ( 8:30am to noon). Since students attend the workshop along with a parent, it is a great way for parents to learn how to support your student at home. Sign up here
Winter Wonderland Formal, January 21
All high school students are invited to attend the Winter Wonderland Formal on January 21, 2017 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm in the Van Brunt Gymnasium.
 
Registration and ticket sales begin December 14th through January 17th.  Early bird ticket pricing of $25 per ticket until January 2nd. Order tickets here

Great Hearts Great Hands Volunteer Work
Members of the Great Hearts-Great Hands club brought joy and good cheer to visitors during the Holiday Lights event at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park on two evenings last week.

Semester Exam Schedule Available: click here to view.  All grades will participate in the semester exam schedule, as appropriate for the subject and grade level. Teachers will communicate expectations along with what form this exam period will take; in some classes there may not be a formal test. Forgotten Lunches and Items: Students who forget their lunches or other items should check the cart in the front office lobby area.

College Counseling

Free Practice ACT - Sat. Jan. 7, 9:00AM - 12:00PM, Lunch Room 
This free practice ACT is being offered to Juniors by Kaplan to enable them to compare their mock ACT scores with their PSAT scores. This comparison will help them determine which test they choose to take for their college entrance exam.

Free PSAT-ACT Score Review - Wed. Jan. 11, 6:30-7:30PM, Lunch Room 

For 9-11 grade students and parents - Kaplan test coordinator presents how to read both your PSAT and ACT mock test scores, and will educate all students on the differences in the exams. No registration required.

Sat 1/28/17(9am-12noon)- 40+% Discounted ACT Prep Class
- 8 class series begins
The ACT is one of two nationally-recognized college admissions tests that colleges and universities use to determine admissions decisions.  This Kaplan-taught course prepares students for the ACT by teaching strategies and test content and includes two in-class and two online practice exams - all at a discounted price for Veritas Prep Junior students only! Class is limited to 30 students, and it requires 20 students to hold the class. To register for the ACT class, click HERE.

5K Successful!
We are very excited to report that this year our 5K was the most successful yet!  Thank you all for joining us and participating on such a fun-filled community day.  We are happy to announce that we raised  $14,175.44 this year! Each school will utilize these funds for school safety and sports uniforms.
