Luke Manley, who founded VTL in 1987, will present the latest VTL products at our event on November 13th. Luke is an industry veteran and designer with an ear for music. He regularly attends live classical music concerts. That is his standard, as it is ours. Luke owns Rockport speakers and Transparent Opus cable. We have been a VTL dealer since 1997.

VTL is the modern tube amplifier. What do we mean by that? VTL amplifiers use tubes to their best advantage to create accurate and powerful music reproduction. They are not warm, mellifluous tube amplifiers. If you want that, we have other choices. From the 60 watt/channel integrated amplifier to the amazing Siegfried mono-blocks that produce 650 watts, VTL strives for accurate music reproduction. The S-400 and the Siegfried are the current iteration and culmination of research that has been going on for two decades. We are fortunate to have an S-400 for a few days. The S-400 will power the Rockport Altairs for your enjoyment. 

VTL S-400 Power Amplifier

The new VTL tube power amplifiers all use auto bias. So, although they use multiple output tubes, there is essentially no user involvement. We are always available to handle tube replacement. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the music.

Over the last few months we have reinvested in VTL. We now have on demonstration the IT-85 Integrated amplifier,TP-6.5 Signature Phono Stage, TL-5.5 preamplifier Series II with phono input and the S-200 Signature 200 watt stereo Amplifier. We are just getting the 7.5 series III Reference Line Preamplifier and will have for the event the Reference stereo amplifier, the S-400 series II. More on the S-400 HERE

VTL 7.5 Series III Reference Line Preamplifier

The IT-85 from the Performance Series is an excellent match for the Audio Physic Classic Compact and the Audio Physic Classic 10 floor standing speakers or for similar speakers. The IT-85 provides about 60 watts per channel and has great flexibility. There is a corresponding preamplifier and amplifier in separate chassis as well as a more powerful version of this amplifier (150 watts).

VTL IT-85 Integrated Amplifier ($5,000)

 The TL-5.5 and S-200 from the Signature Series make a wonderful combination for larger speakers such as the Rockport Atria. That combination truly shines with the Atria. "Best I have ever heard the Atria sound," says Charlie. The combination is amazingly musical and detailed. The TL-5.5 and S-200 are priced at $20,000. $8000 for the preamplifier and $12000 for the power amplifier.

Tidal Music Streamer service

Tidal opens a new pathway to essentially unlimited great music, including classical. We will have Tidal up and running in the store shortly and will offer it for sale. The service costs $20 a month, a bargain compared with buying CDs. Expand your musical horizons Try new music, buy the CD when you find something you really want to own. Tidal has asked Charlie to create a classical playlist of music the less informed but curious classical music listener might like.

Tidal currently offers music from 3,000,000 CDs and 75,000 music videos. We are very enthusiastic about this new service. It originated in Norway a few years back but is now available in the USA. You can access Tidal from your computer or any device. It will also be available directly on the new Digitbit Aria servers and the Electrocompaniet ECM2 Media Center. We will have these exciting new products in the store in the next couple of weeks.
