In Good Taste
The Occassional eNewsletter From Coastal Provisions OBX

                                                                                      January 21, 2016

Wow! Two In One Month
So the is a first in a long time: two newsletters in one month. As the subtitle of In Good Taste indicates, this is the 'Occasional' newsletter, and the last thing we want to do is inundate you with lots of extra unwanted email. In fact, you will only see one in your in box when we have something to say that you will want to hear...and time to say it. And besides, you might need some extra reading material for the impeding blizzard!

It's interesting that the time of year when nothing is going on, it seems like we have a lot going on...in fact, a lot more than we can divulge at this point. But do read on for the scoop on Valentine's dinners, our next Pop-Up, updated music schedule, Taste of the Beach, and of course, the always highly anticipated Duck & Wine Festival....
Everyone Loves A Pop Up?
We were absolutely thrilled with the response to our first pop up wine dinner this past Sunday with chef Todd Bryant of Buddalicious in Corolla, not only with the quick sell out (26 hours), but also the enthusiasm shown by all at the event. Check out our FB page for some pics!

So we want to get the next one on everyone's radar now, especially as we have changed the date (originally 2/7, but some big game going on I'm told).

Metropolis Pop Up Wine Dinner
Sunday, February 21, 6pm
Six courses from the tapas plate experts Mark Anthony and Matt Kristoff from Metropolis in Corolla, with wines paired by Chef/Sommelier Daniel Lewis.
$70/person plus tax and 18% gratuity

Seating limited, so call soon 252-480-0023 for reservations, or drop us an email.

Duck & Wine Time!
The much anticipated Duck & Wine Festival is happening the last Saturday in April as usual, with a few changes to the ticketing process.  First of all, the Town has allowed us to go to 600 tickets, from 500. Secondly, all 600 tickets will be sold online (no paper tickets sold by us or by the community foundation members). And third, they will all be sold at DuckandWine.com beginning February 1st. So they should not sell out online as quickly as in the past, but I would suspect still within 24 hours, so don't wait. Go to DuckandWine.com for updates.

Make Your Valentine's Reservations Now
We are taking reservations now for perhaps the biggest night for most restaurants (other than New Years Eve).

In Southern Shores, we'll have our regular menu going Saturday night 2/13, with live music from Hannah Buckley to accompany. And on Sunday, 2/14 we will be open for dinner only from 5pm with a special pre-fixe menu for Valentine's Day only. Best of both worlds, but don't wait. We turned away too many calls for those who waited too long to reserve for New Years Eve!

At Cravings in Duck, Scott will also have a special pre-fixe menu on Sunday Valentine's Day and will be taking reservations for three seatings.
