Stephen Ganske, Class of 2000, has accomplished things in his career that very few have, and he credits his Vanguard education for giving him not only the foundation of his education but also the tenacity to take on academic challenges that might seem insurmountable to others.

Stephen is one of only seven attorneys in the State of Texas to hold certifications in both farm and ranch real estate law, and oil, gas, and mineral law. State board certification as a specialist is very difficult to achieve. Of the more than 100,000 people licensed to practice law in the state, only 7,450 have earned the right to be recognized as board certified specialists in one of 22 select areas of the law.

Vanguard Graduation is tonight - Friday, May 26, 2017 at 7:00 PM
at the Jones Concert Hall in the McCrary Music Building at Baylor University.
All are welcome to attend.

The Commencement Speaker at Graduation
Jed Cole

Jed Cole was a star student and Varsity athlete at Vanguard School, respected by all. Jed graduated from Vanguard in 2009 and went on to attend the University of Texas where he graduated with honors from the Business Honors and Finance program. While at UT, Jed served as president of the Texas Cowboys and founded Cole Niels & Co., a start-up for custom apparel delivery that has grown to five employees. Jed continues to lead this company strategically from afar, using it as a platform for mentoring undergraduate students interested in running a start-up of their own. After graduation, Jed worked for McKinsey & Company, the world's leading management consulting firm, where he focused primarily on operational excellence for public companies and government clients. In the midst of managing a start-up and a full-time job at McKinsey, Jed acted on his passion for the Waco community by co-founding a real estate venture focused on Baylor student housing.

In the summer before starting at Stanford Business School, Jed worked with Tom Hick's private equity group in Dallas, helping them evaluate operational improvements for their existing portfolio companies.

Jed is now in a dual degree program, splitting time between Stanford's Graduate School of Business and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He will graduate in May of 2018 with a Masters in Business Administration
from Stanford and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard.

We would like to welcome a teacher who is frequently cited as a favorite by alumni, Mr. Brad Livingstone, back to Vanguard.
He will once again be teaching at our school next year!

Congratulations to Dr. Linda Livingstone, the new Baylor University President.

The Arminda Bewley Memorial Scholarship - Winner Ethan Marsh

Thank you to the Bewley family and all of the alumni that gave to the
Vanguard Foundation Arminda Bewley Scholarship!

Arminda Bewley worked at Vanguard from 1977-2011 and was devoted to students and families.  She was the smile at the front desk, testing center, and library and was loved by all. Her patience, character, patriotism and dedication impacted so many!  Through a collaboration with the school, an award with tuition scholarship is given by Arminda's family in her memory to a rising 9th-grader who exhibits: faithfulness to friends, loyalty, a positive attitude towards all, respectfulness, and a willingness to always provide more on their part with initiatives.
