Meet Ryan

"I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for Ryan's bike!!! He loves it!! He got out to ride it for the first time when the weather was so nice! He will definitely be putting the miles on this spring and summer! It is so awesome to see him out and riding and keeping up with his brother!! So Thank you!!" -Sarah, Ryan's mom

Ryan is a funny 5-year-old kid who likes to be social and loves life! He enjoys going to parks, baseball games, watching movies, playing games, and swimming. He is diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease which affects his brain and muscles and makes activities such as walking and balancing difficult.

Ryan's world is all wrapped up in super heroes right now. Among his favorites are Captain America and Batman, but above all, his big brother is his ultimate super hero. Ryan looks up to his big brother and wants to do everything his brother is doing, including riding bikes.

With the help of friends like YOU, Variety was able to provide Ryan with an adaptive bicycle. Now, he can ride bikes with his #1 super hero - his big brother! The adaptive bike will allow him to build leg strength and allow him to be an active participant in family activities. He doesn't have to be confined to his stroller or wheelchair anymore.
Fun Filled February
7-year-old Connor was excited to watch the Bucks play and loved getting cool new sunglasses!
"Thank you for allowing my son to experience his first Bucks game and for trying something new as a family. It means more than you can imagine." -Shelley, Joe's mom
Teen X provided the opportunity for teens with physical disabilities and their friends to enjoy the sport of adaptive rock climbing! Instruction, adaptive gear, plenty of encouragement and a cool community of volunteers helped them reach new heights!

Stay connected

"Thank you again for donating the iPad with Proloquo to Eh Lee. Lee is so proud of his iPad and uses it for communication often! He brings it back and forth between home and school every day and is taking so much responsibility for it. We are getting so many more communication opportunities throughout the school day because he is so much more willing to have it with him now that it is his own. Thank you so much!"-Sara, Eh Lee's Speech Language Pathologist

We  thank Bob's Discount Furniture for choosing Variety to be the benefiting charity of their "Random Acts of Kindness" and for supporting Variety kids!

We encourage all of our Variety friends to check out Bob's Discount Furniture which just celebrated three grand openings in Greenfield, Brown Deer and Racine Wisconsin.
