Summer ShabbaBBQ and Young Family Fun
Friday, August 24
Join us for a fun TST Summer ShabbaBBQ

5:15 p.m. - Young Family Fun with a Bounce House and snacks!
6:15 p.m. - Simchat Shabbat Services

7:15 p.m. - Summer ShabbaBBQ

Come for our beautiful Simchat Shabbat service and stay for a casual BBQ dinner in our courtyard. Hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers, along with pareve and gluten free buns will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a non-dairy side dish, non-dairy dessert or drinks to share.

Imagine welcoming Shabbat together then sharing a meal. The kids can then run around, play ball or toss a Frisbee while the adults hang out together under the setting sun.

High Holy Day Ushers Needed
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are just around the corner. To all of our High Holy Day Ushers from last year, your time and contribution to our services was so very appreciated and ensured that people were welcomed and supported as they came into Temple Shir Tikva.

We are again looking for congregants to volunteer as ushers for our High Holy Day services. If you want the perfect opportunity to volunteer at TST, this is it!  A one time commitment, however, one that is vital. Our usher squad is an essential part of ensuring meaningful, engaging and participatory High Holy Day worship services for all.

Will you join our Usher Squad?

Please email Liz Vinsant, our Usher Squad coordinator, at [email protected] to let her know if you will be able to help.

Thank you for helping our High Holy Day services run so smoothly.

Build-a-Backpack with JFS
Children Helping Children - Families Helping Families
Making a difference one backpack at a time!

Why Build a Backpack?
While some school districts are able to give their students supplies, others provide parents a list of items to get. This puts an added pressure on families in our community who are already struggling to make ends meet.

It also offers a chance to support those in the Metrowest Community
while teaching children about the importance of service and giving back.

LLAIC Course Registration
LLAIC Registration is Now Open for Fall Courses!

If you are free during the day and looking for something to feed your mind, check out LLAIC, located at Temple Shir Tikva.

LLAIC (Lifelong Learners: An Independent Collaborative) will be starting its Fall semester September 25, and we have many courses that still have openings. For TST members, membership is free, and we offer courses on a variety of topics and   varying lengths, from 5 to 10 weeks. Check our website (www.llaic.org) for registration information and course descriptions.

Courses are offered Tuesday-Thursday, and during the lunch break you can take part in a current events discussion (Wednesday) and hear interesting and varied speakers on Tuesday and Thursday.

In addition, your membership entitles you to join our many affinity groups and to take part in any of our trips, both day and overnight.

If you want to speak to a temple member who is also a part of LLAIC, feel free to contact Maryann Wyner ([email protected]). Maryann is part of the Board of LLAIC, and has taken courses and taught here as well.
